Mega Update

The Mega Satellite that began at noon ($575) is down to 62 players from the starting field of 600. Play has slowed down considerably recently, as only 60 will secure a seat into the Main Event. Among the players remaining are Alex Bolotin, Rex Clinkscales, and Pedro “Pete” Rios.

Also going on is an $1,120 Mega Satellite into the Main Event that attracted 55 players. That tournament is about three hours in and 11 players from the remaining 32 will lock up a seat. Still in the hunt over there is David Fox, Mike Beasley, David Paredes, Bill Mullins, Tyler Patterson, and Joe Ebanks.

Luis Vazquez Wins Event 17 ($300 NLHE – $25K Guaranteed)

Event 17 ($300 NLHE – $25K Guaranteed) began with 233 entries Monday night and only 14 made it to Day 2 on Tuesday. Start-of-Day-2 chip leaders David Shaw and Nashaat Antonious bowed out in 10th and 9th place, respectively, which eventually paved the way for a deal between the final seven players. In the end, Massachusetts grinder Luis Vazquez earned his fourth career tournament victory and the first-place prize of $12,002.
