Picking up the action after the river of an AsJc7h2s3d board, Cord Garcia bet 1,950 from the big blind. His opponent in early position raised to 4,500, sending Garcia into the tank for a little while before he called. The early-position player showed AcQs for top pair, but Garcia tabled 7c3c for two pair to take down the pot and increase his stack to about 37,000.

Day 1B Ends with 144 Players – Multiple Pros Advancing

Day 1B of Event 1 ($350 no-limit hold’em – $500,000 guaranteed prize pool) saw another large field of 622 players take their seats on Friday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida; and they pumped the prize pool up to 1,253 total entries. The tournament clock shows that unofficially 144 players advanced to join the 121 that made it through Day 1A.

Among the professionals that advanced were Stu Paterson, Hans Winzeler, John Gordon, Zo Karim, Ylon Schwartz, and Michael Rocco. Farzad “Randy” Raji finished with one of the largest chip stacks in the room with close to 300,000. Familiar faces that busted but will have a chance to re-enter on the Day 1C flight that will begin at 7 p.m. include Adam Levy, Michael Beasley, Noah Sachwartz, Alex Bolotin, Matthew Burnitz, Fred Goldberg, and Donny Mizrachi.
