The second flight of Event 1 has come to a close with approximately 80 players remaining of the starting 386 entrants. We’ll have official numbers after the accounting is complete but we know Michael Ferneman’s 287,500 was the biggest stack at the end of the night.

Jessica Meir is not far behind with 280,000 with Mario Jimenez’ 251,000 and Robert Alberro’s 220,000 joining the big stacks.

Everyone who made it to the bagging process will return on Sunday at 1pm with the other five flights and play down to a winner.

Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante

The final Event 1 flight of the day has reached Level 14 and players are 30 minutes away from moving to Day 2 on Sunday. There are 126 players remaining but we should lose a table or two during the play down.

Next up will be the end-of-flight leaders and we’ll see how they compare to 1A leader David Maddox +400K stack.

While most of our attention was on the Event 2 final table, the second flight of Event 1 slowly moved down to its final break. There are still 135 players remaining from the starting 386 with two more levels when they return.

There are several big stacks around the room and former Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open champion Derrick Simon is one of them. We’ll track the leaders after the break as they build towers for action on Sunday.

Registration has closed for the second flight of Event 1 and they ran up another big count. The final number shows 386 entrants for 1B, bringing the total for the first two flights up to 749.

The Friday/Saturday flights will likely reach those levels to easily surpass the $500,000 Guarantee and put some big money in player’s hands at the end.

Event 1 Day 1B: Levine Leads Late Flight

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300/25 Ante

Jason Levine (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Jason Levine (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)nt

Jason Levine is the early leader in the evening flight of Event 1 but that is not a guarantee of success as we saw in the first flight. He’s followed closely by Robert Chusid with a handful of players over the 50K mark.

The entrant count moved over 340 shortly after the break and we should easily go over the 363 entrants from 1A.

Jason Levine – 67,175 (224 bb)
Robert Chusid – 66,650 (222 bb)
Kevin Roser – 58,250 (194 bb)
Kishor Bhukta – 57,450 (192 bb)
Alexander Karachev – 51,925 (173 bb)
David Coughlin – 50,350 (168 bb)

Event 1 Day 1B: Field Building

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

Kim Stone (Hollywood, FL)
Kim Stone (Hollywood, FL)

The second flight of Event 1 continues to build and closing in on 300 players midway through Level 4. The action seems to be a little more relaxed than the earlier session but that will change as the stacks get shallow.

Kim Stone missed out on bagging chips in the morning flight and is back in action this evening. A lot of players will recognize her from a different seat at the table, Stone is also a poker dealer but moving toward more playing than dealing.

Event 1 Day 1A: Maddox Ends Big

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
End of Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante

David Maddox (Boynton Beach, FL)

After running out the last three hands of the flight, the 69 remaining players bagged up their chips for a return on Sunday.

David Maddox surged late and is the clear front runner of those moving on. His bag full of 438,500 trumps the 273,500 of Raymond Clause. David Hass was another big stack at the end and his 230,500 will be well above average.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker ambassador Sheddy Siddiqui caught more than double up in the last level with queens topping eights to put him over 150,000. Jeff Kessler had a nice finish to his day, he finished his second bullet with 139,500 after losing most of his first shot on his first hand of the day.

Event 1 Day 1B: Second Flight Flying

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

The second flight of Event 1 is underway and they are looking to add to the 363 entrants who kicked things off this morning. That was a good start to the $500,000 guaranteed event and they will have some good money on the line after all six starting flights are added.

Players start with 20,000 stacks and levels will run for 30 minutes for their entire day. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9, approximately 10:30PM, and play will conclude at the end of Level 14. Survivors will return on Sunday and play down to a champion.

Players are taking their final break of the flight and the field has dropped quickly. The opening flight drew 363 entrants but just 100 remain late in the day. They will return and play two more levels before bagging up.

Chance Kornuth and Francis Margaglione are no longer with us in 1A while Sheddy Siddiqui, Jorge Gomez, Erik Christensen, Ory Hen, and Jeff Kessler continue their grind.
