Event 12 Day 1F: Play Ends, Roy Paulena Leads Flight

The final Day 1 flight of Event 12 is now concluded and Roy Paulena finished the night as the Day 1F chip leader.

Paulena bagged 268,700 chips to edge out Steven Fostoff at 264,900.  Evan Teitelbaum finished third with 231,200 chips followed by Freddy Alesi at 221,000 and Phil Novick at 216,300.

Alex Begfors will carry the overall chip lead into Day 2 with 378,700 and Robert Neito is in second place at 367,100 to kick the tournament off tomorrow.

The flight saw 357 entries taking the tournament to a final total of 1,481 easily surpassing the $100,000 guarantee.  36 players advanced sending a total of 162 players to Day 2.

Play will resume in the Poker Room Wednesday at 1 PM where our returning players will play for the Event 12 title to wrap up this year’s Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n Roll Poker Open”.

Event 12 Day 1F: Looking Around

With 54 players left out of the 357 entries in Day 1F, we’re just a little over one level away from the final Day 1 flight being completed.

Among the chip leaders at this point are Phil Novick with 228,600, Evan Teitelbaum with 181,000 chips and Freddy Alesi at 177,400.  It figures to be an exciting finish as our players get ready to play their last 30 mintues of the night looking to reach Day 2 tomorrow.

Event 12 Day 1D & 1E: Wrap-Ups

While all the excitement of the Main Event and Event 14 going on, Event 12 was also in full force today.

Today’s fourth flight of the tournament, Day 1D, wrapped up early this evening with Leslie Hyde taking the flight with 249,800 chips. Jose Gallego finished second with 185,600 followed by Lisa Woodburn in third with 178,100, Scott Hart bagging 149,600 in fourth and Yves Fequiere rounding out the top five with 148,900.

The flight added another 214 entries taking the total through four flights to 808.  25 players advanced putting the number of players into Day 2 up to 88.

Day 1E saw another outstanding turnout and Andrew Del Rio finished on top with 318,500 chips.  Uzebu Oyenmwen was the runner-up with 268,600 and Abhay Chakole was third with 232,600. Michael Wetcher bagged 201,800 for fourth and Andrew Sknar was fifth with 201,700.

316 more entries were recorded blowing away the $100,000 guarantee and taking the total entries for the tournament up to 1,124.  Another 38 players moved on to Day 2 taking the total to 126 players returning tomorrow.

Play in Day 1F is closing out and we’ll have the final totals and updates as the flight wraps up later tonight.

Event 12 Day 1C: Play Ends, Robert Nieto Leads Flight

Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante

Day 1C was Robert Nieto’s playground.

Nieto bagged 367,100 chips to run away with the flight and put up the second biggest stack of the tournament so far.  Dalis Gomez was a distant second at 197,700 followed by Tim Myers at 195,000 in third.   Sonny Quach was fourth at 177,200 and Tim Frazin finished fifth with 156,700.

24 players advanced out of the 219 entries in the flight.  So far 63 players have advanced to Day 2 out 594 entries in this $100,000 guaranteed event.  Players who advanced will be back in action in the Poker Room at 1 PM on Wednesday.

Three more flights will be played tomorrow with start times at 11 AM, 3 PM and 7 PM.

Event 12 Day 1C: But Wait, There’s More

Robert Nieto just put some serious distance between himself and the rest of the Day 1C field.

After eliminating an opponent, he is now sitting on 372,500 chips and threatening to take the overall chip lead away from Day 1B flight leader Alex Bergfors who bagged 378,700.

30 players remain as we head into the final level of the evening.
