Event 5 hit 125 entrants at the halfway point of Level 5 to put us on pace to easily surpass the $500,000 guarantee on the tournament. We’ll be paying out more big money when this one is done.

We found Andre Crooks for the first time this series and he’ll be happy if he can repeat his last tournament cash. He had a handful of final table appearances in our past series before his biggest result when he finished third in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship for $383,000.

Event 5: Taepakdee Leads Early

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300

Preecha Taepakdee (Boynton Beach, FL)
Preecha Taepakdee (Boynton Beach, FL)

Unlike the previous multi-day event, we do not have a runaway early leader. Event 1 saw players getting into 80,000 stacks or more at the first break but today things are a little more subdued with the bigger buy-in.

Preecha Taepakdee is your early leader with 57,425 and only a handful of other players doubled their stack in the first four levels. They have plenty of time to make moves plus re-entries are still available for another four levels.

Preecha Taepakdee – 57,425 (191 bb)
Danny Notice – 55,725 (186 bb)
Thomas Gari – 48,375 (161 bb)
Daniel DaSilva – 43,575 (145 bb)
Bryce McVay – 42,675 (142 bb)
Brandon Miller – 40,100 (134 bb)

Event 5: Double WSOP Champs

Level 4: 100/200

Jacquelyn Scott (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Neil Blumenfield isn’t the only player in today’s field with WSOP success, we have Jacquelyn Scott and Marsha Wolak representing as well.

Both holding bracelets for winning the WSOP Ladies Championship, Wolak in 2011 and Scott picked hers up this summer. They are among the familiar faces we see during each series and have been successful here as well.

Event 5 is nearing 90 entrants at the top of the hour including Neil Blumenfield, someone who lived every poker players dream. Making the WSOP Main Event final table.

Blumenfield is just a few weeks removed from his third place finish during the WSOP November Nine action (coached by Seminole Hard Rock Poker ambassador Matt Stout). He’s been on a nice run since he booked his spot back in July, making deep runs in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open and Coco Poker Open Championships plus an HPT final table.

Event 5: Moving Up Stakes

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

While Event 1, the first big tournament of series, has yet to determine its champions, the next multi-day tournament is upon us. Event 5 pushes the buy-in higher as we head towards the pause for Thanksgiving Day.

Event 5 is a no-limit hold’em tournament with a $570 buy-in and $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. It features four starting flights with the survivors joining together on Wednesday to play down to a champion.

The first flight is underway with players sitting down to 20,000 deep stacks and 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30pm plus three more flights if they bust after that point. Play will conclude after Level 14 when the remaining players will bag up their chips for Wednesday.
