In addition, he’s an expert on all matters related to food (just look at his twitter feed). He’s no stranger to success right here at the Seminole Hard Rock, either. Karim took third place in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown last April for more than $250,000.
How does he do it? Karim summed it up with the two words that have become synonymous with him on the poker trail.
“Brown Magic.”

Zo Karim limps the button, Jeff Trudeau checks his option, and the flop falls . Trudeau leads out for 10,000, Karim raises to 35,000, and Trudeau calls to see the turn.
Trudeau checks, Karim bets 40,000, and Trudeau check-raises to 115,000. Karim calls after a few moments, landing the river. Trudeau fires 250,000 and after confirming what Trudeau has behind, Karim shoves with the bigger stack. Trudeau calls all in for 573,000, but mucks when Karim tables for sixes full of nines to win the tournament.
