Dolofan, Flight D Chip Leader
2nd Overall

Heading into the last two levels of the night, the end of night chip leader bonus was up for grabs and when the dust settled it was George Dolofan (Miami, FL) who earned the $1,000 prize.

Dolofan bagged 284k to lead flight D of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $1 Million Guaranteed opening event.

“This was my first (entry),” said Dolofan, “I came in late and just ran it up.”

But the big hand for Dolofan happened after the last break of the night. Dolofan said he called an all-in bet with KdQd against pocket 3s and flopped two pairs to add 78k to his 200k stack.

“That was definitely the one,” said Dolofan who finished ahead of four other players who battled it out on the same table.

“I guess I’m the bubble boy,” said Cord Garcia (Katy, TX) who wound up second with 248k. Lee Stewart (Hollywood, FL) , Trevor Winstead (Fort Worth, TX) and Jason Maeroff (Dunwood, GA) battled with Garcia and finished third, through fifth, respectively.

The fourth of six flights here in Hollywood, FL had 263 entries to increase the total entries to 1,099, which is more than half of what’s needed to meet the guarantee.

59 Flight D players bagged and tagged and return 1 pm Sunday for Day 2.

Dolofan is currently second overall, less than 3k behind David MacDonald (Jupiter, FL) who bagged 286,700 in Friday’s earlier Flight C.

The next wave of entries hits the Ballroom Saturday at 11 am, followed by the event’s final flight which takes off at 7 pm.
