The field is just returning from dinner, and David Diaz wasted no time finding a chip increase. A player in front of him open-shoved for about 190,000 from middle position, and Diaz re-shoved from the cutoff to put his opponent at risk.

Thanksgiving Dining at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood

The dinner break has us thinking about food, and there’s no better day of the year for food lovers than Thanksgiving Day. Tomorrow is that annual celebration of turkey and football, and a time when most people gather with their friends and families to eat and drink and tell stories and yell at each other.

Things are a little different for poker players, though, many of whom are here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood in preparation for the Main Event. Fortunately, there are plenty of options available on property for those looking to eat, drink, and be merry.

Blue Plate

If you’re in the mood for something casual, head to Blue Plate for their holiday feast that includes Butternut Squash & Apple Soup and Roasted Turkey Breast, which is served with whipped mashed potatoes, stuffing, honey-glazed carrots, and homemade turkey gravy.

For desert, walk across the hall to Constant Grind for an espresso and a Pumpkin Stack Mousse, which is available through the long weekend.

If a more upscale celebration is your style, the award-winning Council Oak Steaks & Seafood is preparing a three-course prix fixe menu that features:

  • Council OakButternut Squash Soup
Topped with crème fraîche and spiced pumpkin seeds
  • Roast Heritage Black Turkey
Accompanied by roasted root vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, and a cranberry and orange compote
  • Pumpkin Nut Cheesecake

The wine list is something special at Council Oak, too, having won Wine Spectator magazine’s Award of Excellence for the last seven years running. Click here to book a table.

There are plenty of hungry poker players around, so grab a couple friends and sample some of what’s on the menu for Thanksgiving at Seminole Hard Rock.
