Down to his last roughly 10,000, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa team member Wally Maddah was in the big blind. An early position player had opened to 1,100 and a middle-position player called. It folded to Maddah and he shoved for his last 9,950. The early position player jammed for more and the middle-position caller got out of the way. Maddah was at risk but ahead.

The runout fell and Maddah’s kings held. He doubled and crossed back over the 20,000-chip starting mark.

Play is freshly underway following the first break with the clock showing 285 entries. Leading the way early in the evening flight is Frederico Moreno. Moreno, who resides in nearby Pembroke Pines, sits on a stack of 100,000 and is the only player to claim six figures worth of chips.

Antoine Bahi is among the early chip leaders in Flight B of the $360 buy-in opening event. He’s been involved in a number of pots and kept the table guessing opening, C-betting and three-betting.

After a rocky start, Shandra Seay is experiencing a little better luck on her second entry.

Most recently, local regular Michael Newman called from late position and Seay raised the button to 300. The small blind folded, the big blind called and so did Newman.

Three-handed, they saw a flop of . All three players checked.

Fourth street was the and the big blind checked a second time. Newman lead for 500 and Seay called. The big blind folded and Newman was heads up with Seay.

The dealer burned and turned the on the river and Newman checked. Leay started to put what looked like 800 into the pot and Newman quickly let it go. After some friendly banter, Seay showed the table for flopped trips.

True to his word, Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Matthew Affleck is among the Flight B field in Event 1 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. He’s back at it after busting Flight A and is one of 182 players registered toward the end of Level 2.

Shandra Seay’s stay in Flight B of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open opener was short lived. A mere 20 minutes into play, Seay looked down at [qs,] in the small blind. On a flop of , Sheay got all in versus the big blind’s [as,].

The turn and river didn’t change a thing and the dealer counted down the stacks. Seay was slightly covered and went down as one of the first eliminations of the event.

The unknown player in the big blind now sits on a stack of more than 800 big blinds just a few hands into the night.

Undeterred, Seay quickly re-entered is back among the field with a 20,000-chip starting stack.

It’s 6pm in South Florida and Flight B of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $360 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed event is underway! Today’s 11am flight drew 326 entries and is nearing its end as Flight B is freshly off and running.

Like the 11am installment, players in tonight’s play begin with 20,000 chips and log 30-minute levels throughout the night. Play is set to conclude just before 2am local time with those fortunate enough to advance returning for Day 2 Sunday at 1pm.
