The 2017 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship is only 65 eliminations away from crowning our next big champ but that is still in the distant future. The 66 players remaining have a long day ahead if they want to be one of the final table six to advance to the live-streamed final table.
The levels switch up to 90-minutes today and will stay that way until only six players remain. It will be a marathon.
Seminole Hard Rock Poker Team member Matt Affleck returns with a lead he built up late in the day. His nearly 1.9 million stack has a nice advantage on the rest of the field and more than 700,000 better than second place Eric Beller.
Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi, 2015 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open final table member Kelly Minkin, Super High Roller champ Dietrich Fast, and poker pro Phil Hui all occupy the top ten starting Day 3 to set up to outstanding poker in the ballroom today.
Elsewhere in the Day 3 counts are 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open champ (and WSOP Big One for One Drop bracelet winner) Dan Colman, eight-time WSOP winner Erik Seidel, Florida poker #1 Jason Mercier, Event 1 winner Hiep Doan, the Brothers Kenney (Bryn and Tyler), plus a lot of other top players.
Besides Affleck, fellow SHRP team member Darryll Fish is still moving right along and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah has some work to do.
They’ll fire back up at noon with 66 players and are scheduled to continue play, with the occasional break, until only the final table six remain.
