Entries: 102

Ankush Mandavia opened the button to 10,000, and Martin Finger three-bet shoved for 115,000 in the big blind. Mandavia called to put him at risk, committing most of his own chips to do so.

Mandavia: 7s7c
Finger: AhQd

The board ran out in Finger’s favor, coming Ac9h6s2sTc to double him up with a pair of aces. Mandavia was left with just 7,000 chips, and he was eliminated one hand later.

Martin Finger – 236,000 (59 bb)

High Roller: Ian O’Hara Eliminated by Ray Qartomy

$25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 Ante
Entries: 102

Ray Qartomy opened to 7,500 under the gun, and John Racener called in middle position. From the cutoff, Ian O’Hara three-bet shoved for 39,500 total. Qartomy called, Racener folded, and O’Hara was heads-up for his tournament life.

Qartomy: KsKc
O’Hara: AdJh

The Kd5d3s flop was bad news for O’Hara, and he started to collect his things and stand from his chair just as the 4d landed on the turn. That was one of the best cards in the deck for his chances, giving him straight and flush draws with one card to come. The river was the blank 9h, though, and Qartomy won the pot with a set of Kings to eliminate O’Hara.

Ray Qartomy – 265,000 (88 bb)
Ian O’Hara – Eliminated

High Roller: Loni Harwood Stands Her Ground

$25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 Ante
Entries: 100

Scott Seiver opened to 7,500 in middle position, and Loni Harwood defended her big blind.

The flop was Ad6h2d. Harwood checked, Seiver made a continuation bet, and Harwood called. The turn was the Js, and Harwood check-called another Seiver bet — 15,000 this time. The river was the 8h. When Harwood checked for a third time, Seiver bet 85,000, which was more than two thirds of his remaining stack. Harwood wasted little time calling to see a showdown.

Seiver tabled 7d9d for a miss, and Harwood showed Ac5d to win the pot with a pair of aces. She’s became the overall chip leader with that exchange, while Seiver was left with the shortest stack in the room.

Loni Harwood – 405,000 (135 bb)
Scott Seiver – 35,500 (12 bb)

In one of the first hands back from dinner, Anthony Zinno was eliminated by Olivier Busquet, and he was kind enough to provide the details.

According to Zinno, he opened the button to 7,000, and Olivier Busquet three-bet to 20,000 in the small blind. Zinno called, and the flop was 9x8x4x with two clubs, and Busquet continued for 25,000. Zinno moved all in for 116,000, and Busquet called to put him at risk.

Zinno: KsKc
Busquet: Kh9h

The turn was a blank, but another 9x on the river was a disaster for Zinno. Busquet ran down trip nines to win the pot and eliminate the former WPT Player of the Year.

Level 9: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 Ante

SHRP Team member Loni Harwood and Nghi Tran were involved in a significant pot on the turn of a Js6c5dQh board. Tran checked from the big blind, Harwood bet 14,000 into a pot of more than twice that, and Tran check-raised to 32,000. Harwood called.

The river was the 2s, and Tran checked again. Harwood took her cue to bet 55,000, and Tran called, committing half his remaining stack to see a showdown.

Harwood tabled JcJh, winning the pot with a set of jacks. She’s quickly worked her stack over 300,000 chips and is now contending for the lead as the dinner break approaches. Tran, on the other hand, was among the early leaders but has seen his stack trending in the wrong direction since.

Loni Harwood – 315,000 (131 bb)
Nghi Tran – 55,000 (23 bb)

High Roller: Byron Kaverman Doubles Through Stephen Chidwick

$25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 Ante
Entries: 92

Stephen Chidwick opened with an under-the-gun raise, and Byron Kaverman three-bet shoved for 58,900 in the small blind. Chidwick took a second to double-check the amount, then called to put Kaverman at risk.

Chidwick: AcQh
Kaverman: ThJh

The 9d7h4h flop was a good start for Kaverman, and the 8d turn gave him a straight and a hammerlock on the pot. Chidwick was drawing dead to the 5d river, and Kaverman doubled up.

Byron Kaverman – 123,000 (51 bb)
Stephen Chidwick – 245,000 (102 bb)

High Roller: Things Are Looking Up for Alan Schein

$25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 8: 1,000/2,000 with a 300 Ante
Entries: 90

After his second elimination, Alan Schein jumped straight back into the field with a third entry, joining a table that includes Ari Engel, Joe McKeehen, Rainer Kempe, and Daniel Strelitz.

Shortly after sitting back down, Schein was involved in a pot against McKeehen on the river of a QdQc4cTh7d board. Out of position, Schein bet 55,000 on the river into a pot of nearly twice that. McKeehen spent several minutes deliberating the call that would cost him about half his remaining stack, then did so to see a showdown.

Schein tabled QhJs, winning the pot with trip queens. He’s already more than doubled his starting stack over the first few hands of his third try.

Alan Schein – 245,000 (123 bb)
Joe McKeehen – 55,000 (28 bb)

High Roller: Dietrich Fast Doubles Through Alan Schein

$25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 800/1,600 with a 200 Ante
Entries: 87

Just the tail end of a pot here, but one worth a mention.

Three players saw the river of an AcAh9h5h7c board. There was about 60,000 in the middle, and Aditya Prasetyo bet 27,000 first to act in the small blind. Alan Schein was under the gun, and he raised all in for 96,900 total. That put the action on Dietrich Fast, and he considered for a long while before calling all in for his last 91,100 chips, putting himself at risk. Prasetyo quickly folded.

“I guess I’m a loser,” Schein said, tabling AsJs for trip aces with a jack. He was the loser of this pot, at least; Fast tabled Ad5d to double up with aces full of fives.

Schein was left with just 5,800 chips, and he was eliminated a short time later.

Dietrich Fast – 270,000 (169 bb)
Alan Schein – Eliminated
