$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 14: 1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante
Players Remaining: 39 of 240

Dylan Malcomson had a huge lead at the second break and rode it to the end to bag the biggest stack of the flight. His 323,000 is good enough for second overall with one flight to go. Kevin Pouya put away the second biggest with 309,000.

Among the 39 advancing to Day 2 were Jessica Dawley, Brett Apter, Thayer Rasmussen, Eli Levy, Richard Rice, Jason Wandling, Matthew Smith, Kharlin Sued, Staffan Lind, and Event 1 champ Trung Pham.

Full chip counts will be posted as soon as they are available.

Wally Maddah

Wally Maddah moved all in from the big blind for 34,000 after the button opened to 7,000 and the small blind called. The original raiser called and the cards were tabled.

“I don’t have a good hand,” his opponent said.

Maddah: KdJs
Opponent: Kh7d

Maddah had the dominant hand until the dealer spread the 8c7c3d flop. The board finished 2h turn and 5h to send Maddah out in the last level for the second straight flight.

Event 8 Flight D: Last Chance

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

Event 8 is closing out the preliminary schedule before we get down to business in the Championship and it is already a success. The $570 buy-in tournament had a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool and it was surpassed early in Flight C. They combined to send it up to $270,000 with all of Flight D left to run it higher.

They will sit with 20,000 deep starting stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, switching to 40 on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30pm with unlimited re-entries. They will complete 14 levels and all survivors will bag up for a return tomorrow at 1pm for Day 2.

  • $250,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 20,000 in chips
  • Single ante will be paid from the big blind for the entire table
  • Day 1 levels last 30 minutes; Day 2 levels last 40 minutes
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 9
  • Day 1 will end after Level 14 or Tournament Director discretion

Event 8 Flight C: Dylan Malcomson Way Ahead at Second Break

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9: 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Flight C Entries: 240

Flight C reached the second break of the day and we found one massive stack in the field. Dylan Malcomson built himself a nice castle of chips and his 248,000 is far and away the best in the room. Per Malcomson, he came about most of those chips in two hands where he knocked out five players.

Too bad this isn’t a bounty tournament.

At the midpoint of the day, if Malcomson neither gains or loses a single chip, it would be a top-five Day 2 stack already.

With Level 9 underway, registration is closed with an unofficial 240 entries. We will post the totals once the accounting is complete.

Event 8 Flight C: Guarantee Met

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 6: 300/500 with a 500 ante
Flight C Entries: 201

We had 300 combined entries over the first two flights of Event 8 yesterday and we already have more than 200 in just Flight C so far. All of them are good enough to push the prize pool over the $250,000 Guarantee and each new one will run it higher.

Late registration and re-entries are available in Flight C until 3:30pm and Flight D goes at 6pm with late registration/re-entry till 10:30pm.

Event 8 Flight C: Evan Teisch Leads at First Break

Evan Teisch

Flight C players returned from their first break of the day and they are all chasing Evan Teisch atop the chip counts. He’s a few small chips shy of 70,000 from his 20,000 starting stack, a fine way to start his day.

They will grind through four more levels, take a break, and registration will close when they return.

Sheddy Siddiqui

The entry count is climbing fast in Event 8 and the tournament is only 60 away from hitting the $250,000 Guarantee.

One those in the field today is SHRP favorite Sheddy Siddiqui. The last time he played a tournament, he went on to finish second in the Coco WSOP Circuit Main Event a few weeks back for nearly $140,000. As far as this series, Siddiqui was part of a tough final table during last year’s RRPO Championship. He finished fourth in a tournament where the top ten featured Dan Colman, Shaun Deeb, Ari Engel, Darryll Fish, Tom Marchese, and high rollers Matas Cimbolas and Joao Simoa.

Welcome back Shedrock!
