Erik Seidel raised to 2,800 from early position and Chance Kornuth moved all in from the cutoff for about 25,000. Jeffrey Trudeau moved all in out of the small blind and Seidel quickly folded.

Kornuth tabled KsQs and was in trouble against Trudeau’s AdAh.

The board ran out Th6d4d3h8h and Kornuth never had much of a sweat. Trudeau’s aces held up to eliminate Kornuth, at least temporarily.

Kozlov checked and Java bet 4,500. Kozlov called. The turn was the 6h and Kozlov checked again.

Java bet 17,500 and Kozlov thought for a minute before calling. The river was the Kc and Kozlov checked for a third time. Java moved all in for effectively Kozlov’s remaining stack and he snap-folded his hand.

Java mucked his hand and got the best of Kozlov for the second time in a couple of orbits.

The under the gun player opened to 1,800 and Jonathan Jaffe three-bet to 5,100 from the button. Stephen Chidwick put in a fourth bet to 12,500 and the UTG player folded. Jaffe five-bet to 30,000 and Chidwick called before the 8d6s3s flop.

Chidwick checked, Jaffe bet 12,500 and Chidwick check-raised all in for 48,000. Jaffe quickly called to create the huge, early pot.

It looked like a cooler for Chidwick but the Jc turned things around. The 3c river finished the board and Chidwick had Jaffe covered.

The turn was the 8d and Imsirovic bet 21,200. Zobian sent his hand into the muck and Imsirovic took the pot.

“You picked up the flush draw with the seven-nine?” joked Zobian after the hand.

“That’s a pretty good hand,” said Imsirovic with a smile.

Imsirovic won the pot and chipped up significantly from his starting stack in just the first 30 minutes of the tournament.

John Cynn is the reigning WSOP Main Event Champ and it’s only been a few weeks since he earned his bracelet. Joe McKeehen won his WSOP Main Event in 2016 and he followed that up with another bracelet in 2017.
