Michael Monaco

Michael Monaco raised UTG+1 to 6,000, John Tobias reraised from the small blind to 21,500, and Monaco moved all in for 97,500.

Tobias called with JsJc, but Monaco turned over AhAd. Monaco needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board came 10c5d3s7c7s, and the aces held up for Monaco to win the pot and double up in chips.

Michael Monaco  –  201,000  (67 bb)
John Tobias  –  20,000  (7 bb)

A few minutes later, Tobias got it all in preflop in a multiway pot, and the others folded after Monaco bet the flop. Monaco had flopped a set of fives against the Jx10x of Tobias, and it held up for Monaco to win another pot and eliminate Tobias from Flight 1C.

Michael Monaco  –  240,000  (80 bb)
John Tobias  –  Eliminated

Evgeniy Catane

At the neighboring table, there is a flop of Js5d4d, and Evgeniy Catane got it all in from the button for 70,500 with AdAc against the UTG player’s KhKc.

The turn card was the 10s, the river card was the 2d, and the pocket aces held up for Catane to win the pot and double up in chips.

Evegeniy Catane  –  190,000  (63 bb)

There are currently 81 players remaining as the field is in the final level of the night.

Stuart Paterson, 2016 Coco Poker Open Champion, is building his stack for a deep run and sits with 165,000 in the late stages. Sitting next to him is Rafael Reis with his 90,000 and trying to duplicate one of his biggest scores.

In 2016, this tournament attracted the biggest field in Florida poker history and Reis was the last player standing. He took home more than $155,000 after topping the 5,018-entry field.

We have a new leader in the room. Ernesto Sanchez was not on our radar at the first break but he sure is at the second. He is up to 167,000 and the clear frontrunner more than halfway through the day.

Suzanne McCarthy sits in second holding 133,000 with Dan Uhs (120,000), Robert Tannenbaum (117,000), Daniel Rambally (104,000), Neil Blumenfield (102,300), and Robert Nielsen (100,000) also sporting six-digit stacks.

Georgi Osikovski

The first break came to an end and players returned to their seats to continue grinding out Flight C. There are still nearly two hours remaining to register and the field is nearing another 400-entry day.

There were some bigger stacks in the room, including Joanne Brogan’s 64,000, but everyone is chasing monster stack Georgi Osikovski. He spun his 20,000 starting stack all the way up to a cool 90,000 and sits as the clear leader after four levels.

But there is a long time to go with bags coming out after Level 14.
