Flight B of Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 1 is underway in the Event Center and it will push the entry count one step closer to a huge prize pool.

The $600 buy-in tournament has a $1,000,000 Guarantee and the 376 entries in Flight A set the pace. With the flights expected to grow as we head towards the weekend, there is little doubt it will get there.

Each entrant will start with a 20,000 deep stack and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 with unlimited re-entries during that time. Play in Flight B will come to an end after Level 14 and survivors will bag up for a Day 2 return on Sunday.

  • $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 20,000 in chips

  • Day 1 levels last 30 minutes; Day 2 levels last 40 minutes

Event 1 Flight A: Reynel Hernadez Over 200K

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 800/1,600 with a 1,600 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 90 of 376

Reynel Hernandez

Action slowed a bit after the last break and we still have 10 tables remaining as they can see the finish line. We expected between 50 to 60 players would advance but it looks like they will be north of that.

Reynel Hernandez is the latest to take a turn at the top of the counts and the only player over 200,000. That gives him the lead and a great shot at the end-of-day lead in a few levels.

Event 1 Flight A: Arthur Holmes Jumps to the Top

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9: 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 180 of 376

Arthur Holmes

A quick walk on the last break found two stacks towering over the others. Arthur Holmes won a huge three-way all in pot as Level 8 came to an end and leads Flight A with 162,500.

James Kirvin was among the leaders at the first break and sits in second after the second. His 150,600 will put him in contention for the end-of-day lead but there are several 100K stacks trying to chase both down.

The second break is complete and registration is closed for the first flight of Event 1. They combined to put 376 entries into the tournament already and above the pace needed to cruise right past the $1,000,000 Guarantee.

They will play six more levels and survivors will bag up for Day 2 on Sunday.

Sam Panzica

Time is running out to join the first flight of the first event of the 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. Level 8 will come to an end in a few minutes, players will take a 15-minute break, and registration will close when they return.

Sam Panzica was one of the late entries trying to grind up a Day 2 stack. The two-time WPT Champions Club member picked up a nice $100K score here during the last Poker Showdown when he finished second in the $1,100 NLH tournament after a heads-up deal.

Event 1 Flight A: Shane Shuckerow Flops the Joint

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 7: 300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight A Entries: 341

Shane Shuckerow

Shane Shuckerow took a shot with his 16,000 stack with a three-bet shove and ran into a bit of a problem. The button player called to put him at risk and he saw the trouble.

Shuckerow: 9c8c
Button: 8s8d

“Oh man,” Shuckerow said. “You have one of my outs but at least I have a nine.”

The dealer went the other way and put 7d6s5c right out there on the board for the flopped nut straight. Now the nine would be bad news for Shuckerow but he faded the chop after the 2h turn and Ks river to move up to 37,000.

Event 1 Flight A: Ross Lebo Leads

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 5: 200/400 with a 400 ante
Flight A Entries: 303

Ross Lebo

The first break is complete and Flight A players took their seats to get action back underway. The entry count clicked over 300 while they were gone with more than two hours to push it higher.

We had several big stacks emerge in the early going including chip leader Ross Lebo. He returned to 70,200 out front with James Kirvin (63,200) and Frank Sinopoli (58,600) up nicely as well from their 20,000 starting stack.

$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 4: 200/300 with a 300 ante
Flight A Entries: 283

Four levels are down and that means it’s time for the Event 1 folks to take a break from the action. They can catch a breath of fresh South Florida air or grab a bite at the snack station just outside of the Event Center.

They will return and play four more levels before we close down Flight A registration.

Event 1 Flight A: Big Early Turnout

$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 3: 100/200 with a 200 ante
Flight A Entries: 217

Ido Ashkenazi

We continue to see a great turnout and more players are joining Flight A now that we are into the afternoon hours. The 217 entries so far puts it on pace to top the opening flight from a year ago.

We found some former SHRP champions in the field including Paul Domb (two titles) and Ido Ashkenazi (one title) both looking to add some hardware.
