Mark Guariglia

Stuart Greenbaum opened to 75,000 from the button and Mark Guariglia called from the big blind to see the QsTs2s flop.

Guariglia checked, Greenbaum bet 100,000 and Guariglia moved all in for 115,000 total. Greenbaum called.

Greenbaum: AdJs
Guariglia: AcTd

Guariglia outflopped Greenbaum and his paired ten was ahead. Greenbaum had a flush draw and gutshot draw to knock Guariglia out and it was the straight that got there on the Kh turn. Guariglia was drawing dead to the 6h river to exit in 11th place.

Stuart Greenbaum – 3,650,000 (122 bb)
Mark Guariglia – Eliminated in 11th Place ($10,845)

Skip McDonough

Skip McDonough was left short stacked after doubling up Jason Wandling, put his 460,000 in the middle soon after, and Stuart Greenbaum called to put him at risk.

McDonough: AdQd
Greenbaum: KdQc

“Oh, I thought you were steaming,” Greenbaum said when he saw he was dominated.

McDonough was looking at a double up and the 9c3d2h flop was safe. The bad news came on the Ks turn as Greenbaum took the lead and held after the 8s river to send McDonough out in 12th place.

Stuart Greenbaum – 3,500,000 (117 bb)
Skip McDonough – Eliminated in 12th Place ($8,755)

The 2c turn was safe for Wandling and he had his double after the 8s river.

Jason Wandling – 1,650,000 (55 bb)
Skip McDonough – 460,000 (15 bb)

Event 5: Sergio Giha Eliminated by James Carroll

$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 24:  15,000/30,000 with a 30,000 ante
Players Remaining:  12 of 398

Sergio Giha

There was little action over the first half of Level 24 after Dien Le doubled, though James Carroll sent about a quarter of his huge stack to others at his table. But he was still comfortable.

Carroll opened to 65,000 from middle position and Sergio Giha moved all in from the button for 230,000. The blinds released and Carroll called.

Carroll: Jh9d
Giha: KdJc

Giha was looking good for a double but Carroll paired his nine on the Ac9h8s flop. Neither the Qc turn nor 7c river were any help for Giha and he was eliminated in 13th place.

James Carroll – 3,200,000 (107 bb)
Sergio Giha – Eliminated in 13th Place ($8,755)

Event 5: Dien Le Doubles Through

$1,700 Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 24:  15,000/30,000 with a 30,000 ante
Players Remaining:  13 of 398

Dien Le

Action folded to Dien Le on the button and he moved all in for 435,000. Cosmin Joldis called from the small blind and James Carroll folded his big.

Le: Kd8c
Joldis: 7d7s

It was a race and Le needed to improve to double. The AhQcTd flop was no help although Le added a gutshot straight draw. The 2c turn changed nothing but the Jc river gave Le the ace-high straight to double up.

Dien Le – 930,000 (31 bb)
Cosmin Joldis – 1,100,000 (37 bb)
