We will post the full chip count list as soon as it is available.

Event 1 Flight A: Marc Brooks Bursts the Bubble

$400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 18:  4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Day 1A Players Remaining:  56 of 555

Marc Brooks

After players returned from their last break of the day, the field quickly hit 57 players to put them on the bubble. Tournament staff paused the clock and they would take two minutes off for each hand dealt until one player was eliminated.

It took five hands before we saw any action and it went in a hurry. Marc Brooks had a player all in and at risk for 84,000 but he needed help. The at-risk player was in good shape for a double up holding AdTd versus the QsJs of Brooks. Right up until the KsQh3s flop.

Brooks paired his queen, his opponent had a gutshot, but Brooks had one of his jacks. The board finished with the 3d turn and 8s river to send the field into the money.

In a bit of a surprise, Flight A managed to make it to another break without reaching the money bubble. There were 60 players remaining at the end of Level 17 and they will return on four knockouts away from earning a seat in Day 2.

Event 1 Flight A: Jeffrey Poole’s Turn to Lead

$400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 15:  2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante
Day 1A Players Remaining:  99 of 555

Jeffrey Poole

Another three levels are in the books and tournament staff sent Flight A players on another break while they pulled the purple chips while introducing the 25K chips.

Jeffrey Poole is our first player to top 300K and his 308,000 leads the field. Scott Swatscheno has the second biggest stack with 294,000 followed by Martin Ryan’s 272,000.

The time is here for players to begin making a move to build a stack. They will not see another break and Flight A will hit the break before too long.

Event 1 Flight B: Building on a Big Day

$400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure

The second flight of RRPO Event 1 gets underway at 6 pm in the Grand Ballroom and it will add to an already successful tournament. Flight A drew a huge 555-entry field to put the $400 tournament on a clear path to meet its $1,000,000 guarantee.

Players start with 20,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, going up to 40 on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm and players may re-enter as often as needed during that time.

Martin Ryan is moving up his stack and the nine-time WSOP Circuit winner sits behind 195,500. Two of Ryan’s WSOPC rings came at our sister property up the road at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. On top of those two rings, Ryan also made six other final tables there including two runner-up finishes.

Registration closed for the opening flight of the opening tournament on the RRPO schedule. And it was huge.

The tournament drew 555 entries for the biggest opening flight of this tournament. We began running the RRPO opening $1,000,000 guarantee tournament in 2016 and it drew a state record 5,018 entries.

That tournament had 403 entries in Flight A and today we blasted it to set up a huge first weekend of the series.

2021 RRPO – 555 entries (TBD total)
2016 RRPO – 403 entries (5,018 total)
2018 RRPO – 341 entries (4,558 total)
2019 RRPO – 400 entries (4,699 total)

Flight A will continue into the evening and come to an end when 56 players remain to advance to Day 2 on Sunday in the money.
