Panagiotis Nifakos

Panagiotis Nifakos was playing a patient game and made it on step up the payout ladder. His problem came when he ran into one of the chip leaders.

It was three-way action with Bruce Kramer staying around until the board read Jh7h7sQh and Nifakos moved in for 970,000. Kramer let his hand go but Altman called after thinking it over for a minute. Altman called with trip Sevens 7c2c and needed to fade the flush draw, gut-shot draw AdKh with one card to come. The 8d ended the tournament for Nifakos in 15th place for $27,934.

Championship: Tanks Alot

$3,500 Championship No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 25: 15,000/30,000/5,000 Ante

Staff announced a 15-minute break at the end of the level but things took a little longer to get moving. Both tables had hands that extended well into the break, long enough to cause them to pause the break time clock.

Brian Altman and Sergii Baranov were battling down to the river when Baranov bet 600,000 with the board reading AdQd2hQhTc. Altman raised to 1,700,000 and Baranov went into hibernation, six minutes later he mucked his cards.

The break clock was restarted and they are back underway.
