Event 21  of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open was a $400 Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
. A field of 390 entries came to play and created a prize pool of $91,650, nearly doubling the $50,000 guarantee. There was also an additional $39,000 set aside for bounties.

A deal was reached between the final five players and as the chip leader, Maikel Cruz was the official Event 21 champion.

Day 2 of the RRPO Championship is underway but that does not mean our schedule does not keep going. We have three new trophy events getting underway today with Event 21 starting at 1 pm. It is a $600 Deep Stack Black Chip Bounty tournament with a $50,000 guarantee and $100 bounties on every player.

They’ll start with 20,000 deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 5:30 pm. They’ll enjoy a 40-minute dinner break at 7:30 pm and return to play down to our next RRPO champion.

2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 21 Seniors Champion Benjamin Robinson

Event 21 of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was the $400 Seniors 50+ (Re-Entry). A field of 227 entries made this the second-largest Seniors Event in SHRP history. The prize pool generated was $77,180 and winning the lion’s share of it was Benjamin Robinson, winning outright for $18,030.

“It was a long day, I’ll say that,” said Robinson afterward. “We played like 12-13 hours or something. I don’t even know what time it is. It was a grind, for sure, but I’m happy to win it.”

Robinson resides in Coral Springs and while he doesn’t play a ton of poker, he’ll take part in a few tournaments during the bigger tournament series.

The flop was 7h6d9s, Coughlin continued for 135,000 and Robinson called.

The turn was the 3s and both players checked.

The river was the 8d, Coughlin shoved for roughly 750,000 and Robinson called right away with Jd10d for the nut straight, catching Coughlin’s AsQh bluff to win Event 21 outright for $18,030.

Following a flop of 9dKc8h with about 250,000 in the pot, Benjamin Robinson checked from the small blind and James Kirvin shoved from the button for 400,000.

Robinson thought for about 35 seconds before he called with Ad9s for a pair of nines, essentially racing with Kirvin’s Jd10d for an open-ended straight draw with overcards.

The 6d turn gave Kirvin outs a flush as well, but the river was the 3c to end his tournament in third place.
