Championship: David Jackson Eliminated in 10th Place by David Greufe; “I Blundered the Hand, Then Flopped Top Set”

David Jackson
David Jackson

David Jackson raised from the hijack to 150,000, Eddie Pak called from the cutoff, and David Greufe reraised from the big blind to 550,000. Jackson used a Time Chip to tank for a while before he called, and Pak also called.

The flop came 8h7d5s, and all three players checked.

The turn card was the Kd, and Greufe bet 525,000. Jackson moved all in for roughly 2,900,000, and Pak folded.

Greufe snap-called with 8s8c for a set of eights, and Jackson turned over KhQh for a pair of kings — Jackson was drawing dead.

The meaningless river card was the 10c, and Greufe won the pot with his set of eights to eliminate Jackson in 10th place.

As soon as the hand ended, Greufe told Jackson that he misclicked preflop, intending to three-bet larger than he had.

When somebody who didn’t see the action asked what happened, Greufe said, “I blundered the hand, then flopped top set.”

David Greufe  –  9,725,000  (130 bb)
David Jackson  –  Eliminated in 10th Place  ($51,000)

The final nine players are now bagging up their chips for tomorrow’s final table, which is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon as part of the SHRPO Big 4. Stay tuned for official chip counts.
