The Championship crossed over another big milestone as they reached the second level of Flight B. With 452 entries today and a combined 1,587 for the tournament, the prize pool topped $5,000,000 and we are staring at a doubled guarantee before too long.
We found more friendly faces in our crowd including Wagner Wysotchanski and Ashley Spring in town from the Tampa area, pros Anthony Zinno and Cherish Andrews ($1,100 Turbo champ), with locals Willie Wiggins and Richard Whitebrook.

We had a tremendous turnout for the first flight of the 2023 WPT Poker Showdown Championship, record-breaking even, and we expect to completely pack the Grand Ballroom. Our players cruised past the $3,000,000 before yesterday’s dinner break and today will more than double that number.

Players start with huge 50K stacks and all levels on Days 1 and 2 last 60 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 9:15 pm. They have a 90-minute dinner break at 5:30 pm and Flight B will come to an end after Level 10.

Darryll Fish opened to 4,500 from under the gun, Wagner Wysotchanski three-bet all in for about 90,000 from the big blind, and Fish thought for a bit before he called with , leading Wysotchanski’s .
The board ran out , giving Fish a better flush to eliminate Wysotchanski in the closing moments of Day 1A.
