We’ve seen players come from around the country and even some from outside the states, Luiz Duarte notable among them as the Brazilian finished second in Event 3.

South Florida is a fine place to spend the holiday weekend and get in some cards. We found a couple friends from the Northeast down here for the big tournament.

Both Guy Ciccioni and Gerry Aiello have big results in the northern climes but searching for their first Hollywood title. Welcome to the Sunshine State.

Hector Pacheco is back in the Poker Room, the scene of his latest big score. Event 1 of the series drew 1,102 entries and Pacheco ended up with every chip in the tournament when it was done. He won the title outright and walked away with $62,160 for the effort.

Event 5 Day 1C: Ory Hen Trying to Make History

$1,700 Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 5:  200/400 with a 400 ante

Ory Hen

The first May Deep Stack Poker Series ran in 2014 and we’ve had six different Main Event/Deepest Stack champions in six years. No one has one it twice and Ory Hen is trying to get that done this weekend.

Not only did Hen win this title back in 2015, but he also did it in a very unique way. Registration remains open for the tournament until the start of Day 2 and in 2015, Hen was one of the max late registered players. He then ran his stack all the way up until he had every chip for the outright win.

The win also helped propel Hen to becoming the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year.

May Deep Stack Poker Series Main Event winners:

2014 – Nigel Murray
2015 – Ory Hen
2016 – Scott Heiligman
2017 – Geddes Cooper
2018 – Chris Bolek
2019 – Paul Domb

Event 5 Day 1C: Nearing 100 After Break

$1,700 Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 4:  200/300 with a 300 ante
Day 1C Entries:  96  (Total: 308)

Flight C returned from their first break of the day with the entry count only a few clicks away from 100.  The combined total is over 300 and the prize pool surpassed $450,000 earlier this morning.

You might notice something a little different from the picture above. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood lifted the mandatory mask requirement this week and they are now voluntary. The Poker Room began removing the plexiglass dividers on the table last night and the process continues.
