The Main Event field continues to shrink while one player is translating his real-life skills to the table. Colby Covington is a professional MMA fighter with the UFC but today’s his eye is on the Main Event final table.
He sports a 9-1 professional record in the MMA octagon but he’ll need help today to stay in the game. Covington is deep but one of the shorter stacks remaining.

Martin Carnero was another one of our players trying to make back-to-back final tables. He finished fourth in our last major tournament, the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” Championship.
His WPT DeepStacks Main Event was over when he got them in versus Robert Melo and the board reading . Carnero had two outs with his against Melo’s but couldn’t hit the river.

Kelly Minkin was the one player today with a chance to make back-to-back final tables in the Lucky Hearts Poker Open Main Event. She finished third last year and was having a nice run this time around.
She couldn’t get much going today and put her last 140,000 in the middle with a three-bet holding . Viktor Lavi looked her up with to give Minkin a good shot at the double.
Minkin dodged the flop but Lavi hit the turn. She had seven river outs to stay alive but it was a blank to end her Main Event.

As a WPT DeepStacks tour regular, Patel was already going to play the Main Event. Now his return-on-investment is off the charts. He has six career cashes with four of them in WPTDS tournament (soon to be five out of seven).
