Recap:

It wasn’t the first tournament of the series but Event 2 crowned the first champion. The Omaha/8 tournament drew a talented crowd of 51 grinders and it was Michael Moed who outlasted them all to take the title. This is his 5th title at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and his 7th Omaha/8 win overall.

The tournament paid out the $20,000 guaranteed prize pool to the final nine players in the event and it took a long time to get there. Day 1 lasted nearly 12 hours before the last 16 players bagged up their chips for Day 2.

Andrew Donovan began the restart with a healthy chip lead but fell well short of the money after a series of unfortunate hands. Moed was micro-stacked with just 12,500 at 3,000/6,000 limits. He was able to double up twice early, while Donovan was dropping, and took the lead as they approached the final table.

Tyler Hoerath and Mitchell Smith were very short as the bubble neared but neither was able to slide into the money. Hoerath had just a few 5k chips as the blinds climbed and he was gone in 11th to form the final table 10 with only nine getting paid.

Smith couldn’t find a miracle and dropped in 10th at the hands of Chris Ivens to put them in the money. Joey Prosper was the leader with Moed not far behind while Garry Devlin and Ivens dropped out quickly once in the money.

Don Todd was unlucky to go out in 7th when his flopped set lost to the turned flush of Arnold Cohen and he was followed out by Jordan Chizick who ran into Moed’s turned full house. The soon-to-be champ also did the hard work when he managed a double knock out of TJ Shulman and Arnold Cohen.

Joey Prosper’s night ended when his flopped straight was caught by an unlucky turn card giving Moed the scoop. Scott Sharp was just behind Moed in the chip counts and the two decided on an equitable deal to chop up the remaining prize money. Sharp was awarded 2nd place while Moed added to his already impressive résumé.
