Event 12: $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em
Entries: 120
Prize Pool: $120,000
August 7 – 8, 2016

Purple Chip Bounty Event 12 had the biggest buy-in on the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open schedule to date and it produced a talented field. It drew 120 entrants to easily surpass the $100,000 Guarantee and it was Arizona native Colin Robinson taking the title when it was complete.
The $1,650 price tag included a $500 bounty on each player to keep things aggressive throughout. Players were able to profit long before hitting the payout portion of the prize pool. The tournament paid out 18 players and stopped play on Day 1 after nine players reached the final table.
Tom Middleton began the final table with the biggest stack and wielded it with force early on. He was the dominant figure until he lost the majority of his stack to Joseph when his jacks fell to kings.
Joseph used those chips to hold the lead three-handed but was unable to get any further after losing an interesting hand to Robinson. Boas began heads up play looking up at Robinson’s big lead and was unable to overcome it, losing his trip tens to a turned full house.
“It was a sick run,” Robinson said soon afterwards.”I’m still not sure what Joseph had.”
“I’m still not sure what Joseph had,” he continued, still thinking about the critical hands where Joseph could not be his ace-high.
“I picked up 11 or 12 bounties,” Robinson said. “I had at least seven coming into today”. A nice little bonus to his payout.
Congrats to Robinson on his win. He takes home $34,800 for the win, plus those added bounties, the SHRPO trophy, and the custom-framed winner’s photo from IMPDI.
