Event 13 Champion Eric Piderit

Hollywood, Fla. (March 28, 2017) – Event 13 of the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, a $570 Double Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em, drew 250 entries and generated a prize pool of $125,000, $50,000 of which was dedicated to bounties. After about fifteen-and-a-half hours, Eric Piderit emerged victorious to capture the first-place prize of $17,227.

Originally from Brookline, Massachusetts, Piderit now resides in Weston, Florida. A regular at the Seminole Hard Rock, this victory marked Piderit’s second on the property. In 2015, he won a $250 No Limit Hold’em event at the May Deep Stack Series for $7,648. With his victory late Monday night (or early Tuesday morning), Piderit eclipsed the $100,000 mark in career tournament winnings.

“This isn’t my biggest individual score, but it is my biggest for a win,” Piderit said afterward. “It feels good. Actually, it feel great to suck out (referring to the final hand). Now that I’ve got the trophy, maybe I’ll retire.”

Whether he chooses to retire or not, Piderit also won a seat to the $10,000 WPT Finale/$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship freeroll, which will take place on Wednesday night.
