$350 Buy-In Big Stack Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em
Level 6: 150/300/25 ante

Event 7 has pulled in 184 players so far with one more level before registration closes. Play has been tighter than the re-entry tournaments and stacks are slowly building.

Edward Medoff – 53,000
David Brown – 50,800
Jeffery Trudeau Jr – 43,375
J. Gossett – 42,950
Michelle Shah – 42,250
John Bindner – 41,025

Event 5: You Won

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 17: 2.5k/5k/500 ante

Steven Bennett had an opponent all-in but was behind with bottom pair Sevens with 8x7x against a flopped set of Nines 9d9s. When another Seven pealed off on the turn, his opponent slammed his hand hard on the table and turned his back.

“Dude, you still won!” laughed his tablemates.

Perhaps a momentary lapse in concentration made him think the magic Seven was bad. His name is being protected against future needles.

Only 153 players remaining after two and a half levels. The bubble looms and TJ Shulman has added to his stack to move into the lead with 597,000.

Level 4: 100/200

“There are no re-entries!”

A common announcement from tournament staff over the first level and it seems players got the message. The entrant count clicked over 160 during Level 4 including Marsha Wolak, Ryan Tepen, Tuan Pham, and Iryna Ostapchuk.

Event 5: Early Triple

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 1.5k/3k/500 ante

Ronald Hines began the day as one of the shorter stacks but would a way to build it up in a hurry. In one of the first hands of the day, Table 8 saw three people pushing their chips in the middle and Hines was needed help with his live cards.

Hines tabled Tc9c to see he was up against the AhKh of Daniel Rosenbaum and AcKs of Jon Kerns. Both Big Slicks dodged the 7c7h4s flop but Hines was in line for a triple up when the turn came 9s. The river blanked 8d and Hines moved out of the danger zone. Rosembaum had a slight edge at the start of the hand but was knocked short then out just a few hands later.

Event 5: Day 2 Underway

Level 15: 1.5k/3k/500 ante

All the starting flights for Event 5 have run their course and all the remaining players are back in the ballroom looking for a new champion. The tournament drew 2,159 entrants and just 240 of them survived to make it into Day 2 but only 126 of them will make the money.

Min-cash for the bottom spots is $363 while the winner will take home $55,715, a fine return on the $150 investment. Dinh Nguyen will begin the day with 442,00 and the chiplead but TJ Shulman is not far behind with 411,500. No one else is over 300,000 but that will change quickly.

They will play 40-minute levels and won’t stop until there is a winner, or 3am, whichever comes first.

Event 7: Freezing Out

Level 1: 25/50

The only new tournament today is a unique one on the schedule. Event 7 is a $350 buy-in tournament with $100 going towards a knockout bounty on each player in the field. Unlike most tournaments on the schedule, there is no re-entry option if players are sent out of the tournament. This should make players a little more cautious and others will take advantage of it.

There is a $50,000 guaranteed prizepool and players begin with 15,000 stacks, 30-minute levels, and late registration is available until the start of Level 7. This is a one day tournament so they will play until a new champion is crowned.

Event 6: Stout Gets Cracked

$560 Black Chip Bount No Limit Hold’em / PLO (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 400/800

Event 6 wasted no time getting down to the money bubble, PLO has the effect on players.

Matt Stout made his first appearance at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open last night with the intention of playing this event, then ended up finishing with a top stack in Event 5. He was a late reg today but sent the tournament to the money bubble courtesy of Robert Campbell.

In PLO, Stout opened for a pot-sized bet of and Campbell followed up with a small raise. Action folded around to Stout and he quickly moved all-in with AsAdKd3c and Campbell called with AhJhKs9s.

Stout was looking good for the double up until Campbell nailed the Qh3h2h flop leaving Stout looking for running miracle cards. The 4d wasn’t a card he needed and Stout was drawing dead to go out in 11th spot.

There was a redraw at the unofficial final table where nine would make the money and one would be unhappy.
