Main Event Day 1B: Closing Time

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 150/300/50 ante

Players are off on their second break of the day as registration is about to close. The board shows 259 entrants so far bringing the combined Day 1 field up to 469 with 15 minutes left to register and the prizepool already over $700,000.

Two-time WPT Champion David “Chino” Rheem was back on Day 1B to give it another shot after he failed to advance yesterday. He unfortunately only lastes a few hands before hitting the rail once again. Other recent eliminations include Zach Kessler and Event 5 winner Peter Striano.

Players have just 15 minutes during the break to enter the tournament or surrender their chip to buy back in for a full reload. Official Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” Main Event numbers once staff crunch the numbers.

Main Event Day 1B: Last Chance

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 100/200/25 ante

“I knew you had nothing!” screamed the 2-seat at Table 39. “But you went and hit the river,” as his wrath turned towards the 7-seat. We were given the heads up about the 8-seat before the day began, he’ll play any two cards in any situation. Tough to nail down, he had the early wrath but it was the 7-seat who flipped up KcJc on the AcKs2d6cTc board.

The rest of the table was off on break when the hand went down and the 2-seat angrily called and slammed As2s on the table into the muck as his flopped Aces up went down in flames.

Matt Waxman was one of the recent entries into the tournament, the local pro has both a WSOP and WPT title on his plus more than $2,500,000 in career tournament earnings. He joins the 238 currently showing on the board with one full level plus the break to register.

Main Event Day 1B: Steady Parade

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 75/150/25 ante

Midway through Level 3 and the tally has climbed to 230 entrants so far with more expected. Recent arrivals include Event 16 champion Dennis Sierra, local regular Derrick Simon, along with pros Ari Engel and  Darryll “DFish” Fish who is back for his second shot at the tournament after busting before the dinner break on Day 1A.

Main Event Day 1B: First Break

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 75/150/25 ante

Players are off on their first break of Day 1B with 216 entrants showing on the board. There are still two levels plus the break for players to get in the game, or get back in the game with a re-entry if they are eliminated.

WPT Cruise freeroll winner Kathy Webb is in the field today play her biggest tournament ever. Part of her prize package included an entry into the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” Main Event and she’s trying to build her stack.

Main Event Day 1B: Power Surge

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 75/150

There was a momentary glitch in the matrix as a mini-power outage hit The Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock. It was a quick blip but was enough to send a quick surge of excitement over every table. One of those small storms which pop up in Southern Florida is moving through but it isn’t stopping the players from getting in the game.

There was no interruption of the tournament but most players are more upset about the college football games disappearing from the many televisions stationed around the room.

Main Event Day 1B: We Four Kings

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 75/150

The numbers are climbing towards 200 entrants for the day but  a good number of them will turn out to be re-entries.

There have been several big bust out hands early including 8h6h flopping bottom two taking out the 8-seat with Kings. Table 41 saw the 8-seat with the most casual way of announcing “quads” before tabling KdKs for the mortal nuts to send the 5-seat out.

More regulars to The Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock are showing up in the field including Event 13 winner champ Haim Gil Nagar, Elliott Zaydman, Jean LeBlond, and Day 1A big stack Nigel Murray is relaxing at the bar checking out his competition for tomorrow.

Main Event Day 1B: Numbers Climbing

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 50/100

It’s still early on Day 1B of the Main Event and the numbers are climbing steadily. There are more than 150 entrants registered midway through the first level to easily surpass the $500,000 prizepool. Every player now adds money across the board for bigger paydays.

The Kessler father/son combo is back to fire their second bullet of the Main Event, Jeff and Zach both failed to survive through 1A and giving it another shot. Event 15 champion Nicholas Mahabee is in today’s field looking to add to his trophy case.

There are still players lined at the cage and we’re tracking down the big early name.

Blinds: 50/100

The final starting day of the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” Main Event is underway as the field builds a prizepool to exceed the $500,000 guarantee. A huge field of 210 entrants put their money up on Day 1A for a shot at the big prize but only 48 of them survived to carry ships into Day 2.

Serge Coles and local Nigel Murray finished 1A as the two biggest stacks and players today will try to match them. Day 1B players sit down with 20,000 stacks to play ten 1-hour levels with late registration or re-entry open until 4:30pm.

We will be here throughout the day bringing live updates and reports from around the poker room.
