David Nathaniel Jr Collects Player of the Year Trophy

David Nathaniel Jr had quite a run in our major events from the end of 2019 into 2020. Seminole Hard Rock Poker tracked our player’s performances for all Championship/Main Events and Nathaniel Jr ranked the best among them to become the 2019/2020 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year.

The shortened season had six majors and Nathaniel Jr had big runs in half of them beginning with the first stop. The 2019 Coconut Creek WSOP Circuit Main Event drew 617 entries and he finished in 10th place for $14,537 payday.

A few weeks later, Nathaniel Jr bought into the 2019 Tampa Pinktober Main Event and he went all the way this time. The $1,100 buy-in tournament drew 466 entries and Nathaniel Jr outlasted them all to collect another $93,345 while moving to the top of the POY leaderboard.

The last major on the schedule was the Tampa WSOP Circuit Main Event and a min-cash there gave Nathaniel Jr enough points to lock up the title over second-place James Calderaro.

For winning the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year honors, Nathaniel Jr earned an entry into select 2020/2021 SHRP Main Events/Championships as well hotel and dining credits.

Today during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship dinner break, Director of Poker Marketing for Seminole Hard Rock and Tournament Manager Jason Heidenthal presented Nathaniel Jr with his 2019/2020 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year trophy for a job well done.

Congratulations to David and good luck in the WPT LHPO Championship!

Due to the fantastic turnout today, there has been an update to the tournament schedule for both starting flights.

Loni Harwood

There’s a familiar face sitting at the top of the chip counts as Loni Harwood’s 115,000 looks to be tops heading towards the second break.

We last saw Harwood during the 2020 WSOP Circuit Tampa series where she came two spots from winning her sixth WSOP Circuit ring. All told she owns five WSOP Circuit rings along with two WSOP bracelets and a Poker Showdown trophy from 2012 with more than $3 million in career earnings.

David Nathaniel Jr

The entry count moved up to 480 after the first break to push the prize pool over $1,500,000 with no slowdown in sight. Due to the size of the field and with an eye towards player safety, new entrants will have an alternate number and will be seated as soon as possible.

David Nathaniel Jr was one of the last players to get a seat before we hit capacity and he’s here on a freeroll. Nathaniel Jr is our reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year and earned that title after a win in the SHR Tampa Pinktober Main Event along with WSOP Circuit Coconut Creek Main Event final table and WSOP Circuit Tampa Main Event cash.

Part of his prize package included a Championship/Main Event seat in our major series and Nathaniel Jr is looking forward to another deep run.
