Registration is now closed for Flight 1D, and with 492 entries, the total field size for Event 1 is up to 1,685, surpassing the 1,667 needed to reach the guaranteed prizepool of $500,000.

There are still two more flights tomorrow (on a Saturday, no less), so the field will be well over 2,000 and completely smash the guarantee.

With about 275 players remaining in this flight, the average chip stack is about 35,700 (45 big blinds). A look at the leaderboard from the break will be posted soon.

Flight 1D Field

The field for Flight 1D just surpassed 474 entries, which was the number needed to reach the guaranteed prizepool of $500,000. Registration is still open for a little while in this flight, and there are two more flights tomorrow. Since tomorrow is Saturday, those should be the two biggest fields of the event.

With about 310 players remaining from a Flight 1D field of 476, the average chip stack is about 30,700 (51 big blinds). Action will continue tonight until the end of Level 14, which should be about 1:45 am.

Here’s a look at some of the notables in this field:

Joel Borden  –  82,000  (137 bb)
Mike Beasley  –  51,000  (85 bb)
Garren James  –  43,000  (72 bb)
Steve Karp  –  41,000  (68 bb)
Timothy “T.K.” Miles  –  39,000  (65 bb)
Jessica Dawley  –  30,000  (50 bb)
Marcus Stein  –  25,000  (42 bb)

At the first break, there were at least nine players who had built up their starting stacks of 20,000 to more than 50,000, giving us our first look at the leaderboard:

1.  Joel Borden (pictured)  –  64,925  (216 bb)
2.  Travis Holloway  –  56,400  (188 bb)
3.  Wagner  –  54,575  (182 bb)
4.  Carlos Pereira  –  54,000  (180 bb)
5.  Michael Newman  –  52,675  (176 bb)
6.  Michael Chaparro Jr.  –  51,525  (172 bb)
7.  James Kirvin  –  51,350  (171 bb)
8.  Joshua Tran  –  50,700  (169 bb)
9.  Omar Azaitar  –  50,025  (167 bb)

There were 377 entries in Flight 1D at the break, and now, halfway thru Level 5, there are 426. The field needs 48 more entries to hit the guaranteed prizepool of $500,000, so there’s still a solid chance that it reaches that number tonight. If not, there are two more fields tomorrow to really juice the prizepool.

Event 1 Day 1D: Nearing the Guarantee

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

Event 1 needs to reach a total field size of 1,667 (in a combined six starting flights) to meet the guaranteed prizepool of $500,000. With the first three flights complete, the field has reached 1,193, or 72% of the goal.

Here in Flight 1D, there are 324 entries so far at the start of Level 4 — just 150 entries away from the guarantee. Registration remains open until the start of Level 9, and with re-entries available, its possible that the guarantee could be reached tonight.

Some of the familiar faces in the field early on include Steve Karp, Marcus Stein, Mike Beasley, and Kim Stone. The first break is coming up in 20 minutes or so, and that’s when we’ll take our first look at the leaderboard for Flight 1D.
