Recap:

Event 25 was the last multi-day event on the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open schedule. The small buy-in, big prize pool tournament drew 690 entrants for $150 buy-in and the $50,000 guarantee prize pool. After two starting days and a long final table, Miami resident Yves Fequiere was the last player standing.

Day 2 saw 86 players return with only 45 of them getting a piece of the $82,800 prize pool. The field quickly played down into the money before the second break and it didn’t slow down until the final table.

Those ten players settled in for the long haul and action didn’t pick up until after Robert Chusid went out in 9th place. That set up a quick succession of bustouts until there were just three players remaining.

Fequiere, Joe Pozos, and Ariel Rosello battled it out until Rosello ran his pocket pair into the bigger one of Fequiere. The hand solidified Fequiere’s lead and he was declared champion after a heads up deal with Pozos.

Final Table Results:

1st: Yves Fequiere (Miami, FL) $17,344
2nd: Joe Pozos (Lewes, DE) $17,344
3rd: Ariel Rosello (Hialeah, FL) $8,321
4th: Marshall White (Garner, NC) $5,796
5th: Richard Hembree (Archdale, NC) $4,181
6th: Peter Chin (Hollywood, FL) $3,353
7th: Marc Levy (Boynton Beach, FL) $2,567
8th: Pat Tiller (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) $1,822
9th: Robert Chusid (Sunrise, FL) $1,325

Event 25: Ariel Rosello – 3rd Place ($8,321)

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 31: 60,000/120,000/20,000 Ante

There was another long stretch with little activity, except talk about making a deal and taking home the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open trophy.

Ariel Rosello really wanted it but sat third in chips. He tried to move his way up when he shoved for 1,250,000 with 6h6c and chip leader Yves Fequiere quickly called with 9d9h.

The Ac4s3d flop did Rosell no help and the 9h turn locked up the hand for Fequiere. Rosello had to walk away without his trophy, finishing in 3rd place for $8,321.

Event 25: Marshall White – 4th Place ($5,796)

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 30: 50,000/100,000/15,000 Ante

Joe Pozos didn’t knock out Marshall White, but he did almost all the damage. He limped in the small blind and White raised to 180,000 in the big blind.

Pozos moved all-in and White quickly called with AcQd only to see he was up against AsAh. It was a dry run out of 9s8c2c9hJs and Pozos’ 1,450,000 was doubled leaving White with only 50,000 and the big blind.

He was all-in for less than the 100,000 required while Yves Fequiere and Pozos checked down the next board of Tc3c2h8hJs. Fequiere’s Kc3s was good enough to take the small pot against Pozos’ 7d4d and White’s 6s4c.

It was a dramatic way to go out, but White is gone in 4th place for $5,796

Event 25: Richard Hembree – 5th Place ($4,181)

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 28: 30,000/60,000/10,000 Ante

Richard Hembree was getting anxious to get somewhere else. He was getting ready to go and moved all-in for ~400,000 from the button and Yves Fequiere quickly called when it got to him in the big blind.

Fequiere: AcTd
Hembree: Qs9d

Hembree’s chances decreased on the AhKs5d flop and were gone after the 3c. The river was a pointless 2h and Hembree was eliminated in 5th place for $4,181.
