Chad Eveslage

After five, 90-minute levels, the 90 players that returned for Day 3 of the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown was trimmed down to just 18 players with Chad Eveslage from Indiana leading the way.

“It was the best I’ve ever ran.. didn’t really face any adversity. I kept making hands, it was the easiest day ever.”

Eveslage bagged up a massive chip stack of 10,760,000 which more than double James Carroll who finished the day second in chips with 5,255,000.

Jason Marshman (4,700,000), Jerry Robinson (4,400,000) and Maria Ho (4,175,000) round out the top five chip stacks.

The final 18 players will return on Tuesday, April 15, to play down to the final table of six players that will all return on May 30 to play down to a winner at the HyperX Esports Arena at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Surviving Tuesday and making the final table would guarantee them  at least $148,380 and keeping them alive for the $715,175 first place prize.

Ari Dinov opened to 85,000 from under the gun and Eric Afriat called from the cutoff. Keith Ferrera moved all in for 1,275,000 from the small blind.

Chad Eveslage announced he was all in from the big blind effectively putting everyone else all in. Dinov and Afriat got out of the way and it was heads up.

Eveslage turned over AdAs and had a commanding lead against Ferrer’s AcKd.

The board ran out 9d6d5d8hKs, and on the final hand of the night, Ferrera is eliminated in 19th place for a $29,690 payday.

Antonios Roungeris raised to 105,000 from middle position and both James Carroll and Jerry Robinson call from the button and small blind.

The flop came Jd9s10s, it checked to Carroll who bet 220,000. Only Roungeris called.

The turn brought the 4d and Roungeris bet 375,000. Carroll put Roungeris all in for 935,000. Roungeris called with AcJc and was drawing dead against Carroll’s 8c7c.

D’Angelo tabled Ac6d and was out in front against Bank’s 9c6c.

The 7c on the turn paired the board and the 2c on the river made it official as Banks was eliminated in 20th place.

Raus turned over 10h10s and was in good shape to double up against Seymour’s 7c7s.

Antonios Roungeris raised to 90,000 from under the gun before Ryan D’Angelo three-bet to 260,000 from two seats over.

From the big blind, Joseph Elpayaa moved all in for 1,010,000. Roungeris folded, and D’Angelo called.

It was a fair fight as Elpayaa tabled AhKd versus D’Angelo’s QhQc.

The board ran out 10c4h2h9sJc and D’Angelo’s pocket queens held to eliminate Elpayaa in 25th place.

With Elpayaa’s elimination the final twenty-four players are currently redrawing to the final three tables.

Phil Hui

Phil Hui is the Pot Limit Omaha champion following a win in Event 21 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. Hui defeated a strong field of 56 entries in the $2,200 buy-in event ultimately scoring an outright win of $41,440 and a token guitar pick trophy.

There were six finalists at the start of  Day 2 including three-time WSOP bracelet winner Ben Yu.

Hui, the eventual champion led the pack with more than twice the amount of chips as his next  closest opponent. Everyone was guaranteed a payday of $6,720 with all eyes on the first place prize of $41,440.

It was pretty smooth sailing for the Hui to score his fourth Seminole Hard Rock trophy.

This was Hui’s first outright win of the series out of five final tables. He chopped the  Event 6  $300 Deep Stack Turbo and came runner up in Event 2 $360 Omaha 8 or Better.

He also finished fourth in Event 11 $360 PLO 8 as well as sixth in Event 12 $360 H.O.R.S.E.

The Florida local undoubtedly has some home field advantage, “I love it here, its good to be home.. I love sleeping in my own bed. I like to have a routine, being able to go to the gym before I play, eat what I want and cook what I want.”

The victory pushed him to over $1,700,000 in reported earnings.
