Event 18 Bounty NLH – Blind vs Blind

Event 18 (3 pm): $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty NLH
Blinds 250/500/50 ante

Players remaining: 39
Average stack: 45,538 (91bbs)

Action folds around to Erik Christensen in the small blind, who raises it to 1500. Mike Dentale puts in another 1k to make the call from the big.

Flop comes 6d 7d 7c . Christensen bets out 1350, Dentale flats. The 9s comes on the turn. Christensen bets 3350. Dentale takes a look at Christensen’s stack, then makes the call.

The 2c comes on fifth street. Christensen tanks for a bit before betting 8500. Dentale thinks for a bit before asking “Show me if I fold?”. No response from Christensen. Dentale then goes into the tank for a long while before making the call.

Christensen announces “Jack high” and turns over Js 10s. Dentale tables Kd 9c for a turned pair of 9s and rakes in the pot. Dentale now has about 50K.

Event 17: Champion – Leandro Peirano ($5,285)

$250 Pot Limit Omaha 8B

Leandro Peirano (Hialeah Gardends, FL) $5,285
Leandro Peirano (Hialeah Gardends, FL)
$5,285

On a flop of Qc 2s Ks, Jordan Chizik checks. Leandro Peirano makes a pot size bet on the button, and Chizik makes the call.

The 9c falls on the turn. Chizik doesn’t wait long to push his remaining 116K into the middle to put himself at risk of busting. Peirano thinks for a few moments before making the call.

Peirano Kd Qh 4c 5d
Chizik 10c Jd Qs 3c

Chizik has a King high straight and is in good shape against Peirano’s 2 pair (Kings and Queens). Unfortunately the Kc falls on fifth street for Peirano to fill up with Kings full of Queens over Chisik’s straight.

Leandro Peirano wins the $5,285 first place prize money and the Event 17 $250 Pot Limit Omaha 8B trophy.  Peirano says “once you go PLO, you never go back”.  Peirano likes PLO because he feels there’s more action than in No Limit Hold’em.
