RECAP
With more than $400,000 in live tournament winnings*, including a fourth-place finish worth $72,121 in a $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8/B event at the 2009 World Series of Poker, 46-year-old Robert Campbell is no stranger to the game. Originally from California, but now living in North Miami, Campbell has a fondness for Omaha eight-or-better.

“I enjoy Omaha High/Low a lot,” said Campbell. “I play Omaha for the fun, but Hold’em for the money. I’ll be playing in a bunch of Hold’em events the rest of the series.”

Campbell topped a field of 67 players over the course of two days to claim the title. The final table saw the chip lead change many times, including a back and forth battle between the final four players, where each player spent time as the chip leader and as the short stack. In the end, Campbell prevailed for the victory.

Monaldi: Tc9d8h6c
Campbell: Td4d9c2c

Both players have drawing hands, but it’s Campbell that gets there as the 3h turn and Qd river give him a flush for the high and a 7-6-4-3-2 low to scoop the pot and win the tournament.

Monaldi pockets $2,673 for his runner-up showing.

Event 6: Matt Elsby Eliminated in 4th Place ($1,266)

Elsby’s last few chips get into the middle with AcTh3s2s against Campbell’s AdAhJs8h. The turn is the 2d to give Elsby trip deuces to go along with the nut-low draw, but the As river falls to give Campbell aces full of fours for the high, while no qualifying low hits the table.

Elsby earns $1,266 for his fourth-place finish.

Monaldi: Ad2c7d6d

Breakstone wins the high with an ace-high flush, while Monaldi has the nut low. Prosper mucks and is out in sixth place.
