Day 3 of RRPO Awards Another Trophy and a Huge Turnout for Ultimate Re-Entry

The tournament area was packed to the brim at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The third day of the 2017 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open featured the two biggest flights of the $360 ultimate re-entry event and another local player took home a title.

Day 1E and 1F kicked off at noon and 5 p.m. they were the two biggest flights of the event thus far. 428 players came out for 1E and 461 took their seat in 1F, which brought the overall field size to 2,184 entries, with 197 players securing a seat on Day 2.

Ben Scrogins dominated the second of the two flights and nearly overtook David Prociak for the overall chip lead. He finished 1F with 558,000, just behind Prociak’s 579,000 stack.

Nicholas Cookendorfer, Ismail Patel and Adam Koppel all survived their third starting flight of the event. They are the first three players to achieve this feat and they have taken home $5,000 in cash for this. Cookendorfer plans on coming back on Friday to try and add some more money in his pocket, while Koppel mentioned that he won’t be playing on Saturday.

While all of the eyes were on the huge numbers in the re-entry, Brad Ruben won the $360 pot-limit Omaha event for $8,471. There won’t be a trophy up for grabs on Saturday, as the only events running are the last two flights of the ultimate re-entry.

A preview of the day’s events will be posted in the morning.
