Day-1-2016-Deep-Stack-Series-1

Cards are in the air, players are in their seats and the key ingredients are in place for another huge South Florida turnout. The clock strikes the 11th hour of Saturday morning and we’re in action here in the Seminole Hard Rock poker room for Flight C of the Deep Stack Series opener.

As of yesterday, the field in Event 1 — $350 buy-in, $150,000 guaranteed — sits at 564 players easily surpassing the six-figure targeted prize pool. Today’s flight, expected to be the largest of the three, is sure to grow that number over 900 combined entries putting the kiddie well over the $200,000 mark.

Like previous days, players in today’s installment begin with 30,000 chips, play 40-minute levels throughout and bag and tag following Level 15. Those still claiming a stack return for Day 2 tomorrow at noon.

Here’s a closer look at Flight C:

Deep Stack Series Day 3 Schedule

Day-1-2016-Deep-Stack-Series-4

The Deep Stack Series continues Saturday in the Seminole Hard Rock poker room with the third and final starting flight in the series opener — a $350 buy-in, $150,000 guaranteed tournament. With more than 500 entries in the first two flights alone, the guarantee is long gone and today’s field simply grows the prize pool further into the six figures.

Like yesterday and the day before, Flight C players begin with 30,000 chips and play 40-minute levels. A 40-minute dinner break occurs after Level 9 with action wrapping following Level 15. Late registration and unlimited re-entry available until the start of Day 2.

Here’s a more in-depth look at the schedule of play followed by a breakdown of the 6pm multi satellite.

That’s a wrap on Friday and Flight B of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Deep Stack series opener. The second of three starting flights, Flight B began at 11 a.m. and drew 312 entries bringing the two-flight total to more than 550 and eclipsing the $150,000 guarantee with another start day still to come.

Bagging the chip lead as 49 advanced from Flight B was Ismail Patel. Patel, who locked up a stack of 585,000, trails Flight A’s Hector Navas as a total of 89 players have punched their ticket to Day 2 thus far.

Complete chip counts through Flight B will be posted in the morning around 9 a.m. In the meantime, here’s a look at Saturday’s upcoming schedule:

The 40-minute dinner break is over and cards are freshly in the air for the start of Level 10. Heading toward the top of the counts as the clock ticks up toward 300 entries is Evan Teitelbaum. Teitelbaum was up over 230,000 before taking a hit prior to dinner. He now holds 195,000 and trails only Andrew Woodmancey’s 225,000-chip stack. The top four stacks are rounded out by Marco Rodriguez in third with 187,500 and local regular Nancy Birnbaum in fourth with 170,000.

With 271 entries and more than 500 total combined, the $150,000 guarantee is already a thing of the past in Event 1 of the Deep Stack Series opener.

We will take another look at the chip leaders and the field size when play concludes in Flight B tonight around 10:30 p.m.

$350 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry ($150,000 Guaranteed)
Level 5: 200/400/50 Ante
Entries: 212

The clock shows an unofficial 212 players midway through Level 5 of Flight B. That puts the combined field at 454 entries and all but assures the tournament will demolish its $150,000 guarantee. Today’s player count is expected to continue its upward trend through the dinner break while tomorrow’s Flight C is projected to be the largest of the three starting days.

Neil Blumenfield

The six-figure guarantee and large field have drawn a notable number of big names. Topping them in Flight B is Neil Blumenfield. Blumenfield, recognized by his signature hat and most well known for his 3rd-place finish and $3,398,000 score in the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event, is a regular on the Seminole felt. He’s joined by fellow South Florida regulars Zoltan Czinkota, Nancy Birnbaum and Steven Bennett.

We will provide an update look at the field and a glimpse at some of the notable chip counts during the 40-minute break.

Seminole Hard Rock Tournament Director, Tony Burns

It’s 11 a.m. local time and we’re back in action here in the Seminole Hard Rock poker room. Players are in their seats and cards are in the air as tournament director Tony Burns got things started in Flight B of the $350 buy-in, $150,000 guaranteed Deep Stack Series opening event moments ago.

Yesterday’s Flight A drew a field of 242 entries putting the prize pool at an unofficial $72,600 and growing. The strong turnout has the event well ahead of pace to best its six-figure targeted prize pool and today’s Flight B and tomorrow’s Flight C are expected to continue that trend.

Like yesterday, players began today’s Flight B with 30,000 chips. Levels are 40 minutes with a 40-minute dinner break occurring after Level 9. Day 1 wraps following Level 15 and those fortunate enough to bag and tag return Sunday at noon local time. Late registration and unlimited re-entry are available until cards go in the air for Day 2.

Here’s more on Flight B’s schedule of play:
