Dennis Rodriguez helped put Event 3 in the money

It took a while to get there but Event 3 finally hit the money bubble as the clock rolled into Level 19. They went into hand-for-hand action with 46 players remaining and 45 getting paid.

Like Event 1 before it, they only played one hand to make the money. Also like Event 1, they had a double knockout to chop a min-cash.

On one table, Christian Barrett moved all in for 44,000 and Haris Hadziabdic called to put him at risk. They then had to wait until the other five tables finished their action.

Nearby, Jorge Aristizabal also moved all in. His shove was for 69,000 and Dennis Rodriguez called to put another player at risk.

The other tables finished their hands and the all-ins were tabled. Barrett was ahead for the double with 4h4c against AhQs and improved to a set on the JdTs4s flop. Hadziabdic had a gutshot Broadway draw that turned into an open-ended straight draw on the 9d turn. The board finished Kd and Barrett was sent out on the bubble.

The other hand was more straightforward. Aristizabal had two live, suited cards with JhTh against Ac6h but could not connect on the 7h7s2s3h7c board to also go out on the bubble.

Since players Barrett and Aristizabal were at separate tables, they chopped up 45th place money.

T-45th: Christian Barrett – $540
T-45th: Jorge Aristibazal – $540

Event 3: Bubble Chopped Hand

Joel Harwood

The pace slowed with the money bubble on the horizon but they almost dropped two players at once. Joel Harwood opened to 19,000 and Charlemagne Benjamin moved all in for 64,000. Jeff Silverstein shoved over the top for 107,000 and action was back on Harwood.

“I don’t know what to do guys,” Harwood laughed. “I’m going to fold the winner.”

Harwood mucked 8d6d face up and we saw the other hands. Benjamin was ahead with QsQh against AsKd but they chopped the pot when a straight came on the 7c4c3d6s5h board. Harwood’s eight would have played for the higher straight.

“I told you I folded the winner!” Harwood joked.

Chanpiseth Keam

There were fireworks soon after the first break and we have a new chip leader. As told by his tablemates, Chanpiseth Keam was heads-up with Dani Dayan when he flopped a set of queens against her flopped straight. Dayan got him all in on the turn and Keam rivered a full house to double into the lead.

That hand propelled Keam to the top of the counts with 990,000 heading towards the bubble.

We have 48 players with 45 getting paid.
