Evan Teitelbaum

Another level down and another player making a run towards the top of the counts. Zoltan Czinkota continues to lead with 335,000 but Evan Teitelbaum, another SHRP regular, is trying to chase him down with 315,000.

Players still have an hour worth of play to try and catch those two, or top Day 1A leader Anto Slisko, before bagging up.

Event 1 Day 1B: Last Break Big Stacks

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 12:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Day 1B Entries:  333 (Total: 659)

Victor Figueroa

It took a while to get there but we found some stacks at the last break to crack the 200K mark. During Day 1A, we had two over that mark so they are taking their time.

Our new leader is SHRP regular (and Coconut Creek WSOP Circuit ring winner) Zoltan Czinkota with 268,000. He’s followed by Jim Kirvin (235,500), Victor Figueroa (235,000), and Henry Billete (208,5000) with Paul Balzano (196,500) a few chips shy of the line.

Event 1 Day 1B: More Stacks Growing

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11:  1,000/1,500 with a 1,500 ante
Day 1B Entries:  327 (Total: 653)

Paul Balzano

We found a few more familiar faces in the field and both are running up some stacks. Paul Balzano looks like our new chip leader with 185,500 while former RRPO Champion Victor Figueroa moved up over 100,000.

Players will work their way through Level 11, take a 15-minute break, and return to play the last three levels of the night.

Event 1 Day 1B: Kevin Dubrocq Up

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10:  500/1,500 with a 1,500 ante
Day 1B Entries:  314 (Total: 640)

Kevin Dubrocq

The post-dinner rush continued with the count now well over 300 and now it will take something shocking to keep the tournament prize pool from crossing over $300,000.

Kevin Dubrocq is the latest to make a run towards the top of the leaderboard. The March Big Slick runner-up moved his stack up to 157,500 and sits just behind Jim Kirvin’s 160,000 while Rick Kalgstein is still in the mix with 120,000.

Event 1 Day 1B: Back from Dinner

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9:  500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Day 1B Entries:  293 (Total: 619)

The 40-minute dinner break came to an end and Day 1B players returned to action. The flight picked up more than 20 entries during that time for 619 total with time to grow.

They will play three more 40-minute levels before enjoying the last break of the day.

Event 1 Day 1B: Double the Guarantee

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 8:  400/800 with a 800 ante
Day 1B Entries:  272 (Total: 598)

Shortly before the dinner break, entry number 272 today put the combined total up to 598 and that is good enough to put more than $200,000 into the prize pool. With a full Saturday flight to go plus late registration open until the start of Day 2, hitting $300,000 should be in the works.

Tournament staff will send players on a 40-minute dinner break after Level 8 and they will return to play six more levels.

Event 1 Day 1B: Rick Kalgstein Climbing

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 8:  400/800 with a 800 ante
Day 1B Entries:  269 (Total: 595)

Rick Kalgstein

Day 1B slid into the last level before the dinner break and there’s another big stack in the room that we missed earlier.

Rick Kalgstein is up among the leaders with 116,000 at the midpoint of the day. He has past success in Deep Stack tournaments including a $32K win on the other side of the state at our sister room in Tampa.

Event 1 Day 1B: Paul Chang at the Top

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 7:  300/600 with a 600 ante
Day 1B Entries:  256 (Total: 582)

Paul Chang

Players returned from break and we have a new leader in the room. It looks like Paul Chang jumped to the top of the counts with 118,900 while Jim Kirvin slid back to the rest of the field. SHRP favorite Thomas Gari also sports a big stack as they near the halfway point of the day.

Day 1B will play two more levels before players are sent on a 40-minute dinner break.
