Sometimes you just get lucky, sometimes the luck is forced upon you. Vladmir Akhundov had built up a nice, big, potential chip lead stack and was using it aggressively.
Akhundov’s last move didn’t end well for him. With his stack easily covering everyone else at the table, his standard move was an open-shove if it folded to him. He did it once again and found one caller from the short-stack button.
The big problem came when Max Romano called from the big blind with over 100,000 in front. Akhundov was finally forced to look at his hand and he slowly tabled the first.
The table laughed and he rolled over the to go with it. The short stack player had and Romano was big with .
The flop and turn were Romano-friendly but the river cost him a few chips to the shortie. It took several minutes to hash out the details but Romano was finally able to stack up and currently sitting with 250,000. Our new 1C leader.
