SHRPO Event 1 continued the tradition of kicking off the series with a bang. The tournament drew 6,253 entries over eight starting flights, creating the second-biggest tournament in state history.

Of those starters, we have 625 returning today at 1 pm for Day 2, and they are all in the money. Everyone is guaranteed at least $780; the eventual champ will earn $292,500.

Charlemagne Benjamin bagged a huge stack with over 400K more than second-place Wagner Wysotchansi and double that of fifth-place Eric Rowen.

But there’s a lot of time to catch the Hollywood regular.
