Jay Romano

On a flop of 6c5c4s, Jay Romano bet 300,000 out of the small blind and Qasem Jamhour moved all in for 1,180,000 from the cutoff.

Romano stood up out of his chair and asked the dealer for an exact count. The dealer broke down the stacks a couple of times before getting the correct count to Romano.

“I don’t think I can fold this,” said Romano while he was thinking. “I hope you have kings.”

After a couple minutes of thought, Romano called and showed 6s5s, good for top two pair. He was in the lead against Jamhour’s Ah7c.

“If you suck out, I’ll be so mad at you,” said Romano after seeing the cards face-up.

Jamhour needed an eight or a three to double up and stay alive, but the Ts on the turn and the 2c on the river sent the pot to Romano.

Romano let out a celebratory scream and ran up a handful of the nearby stairs of the event center. He got five or six steps up before doing an end zone dance and returning to the table.

Jamhour was eliminated in 30th place and headed to the cage to collect his money.

“I told him not to raise my blind,” said Romano when he returned to his seat.

Romano now owns a massive chip lead over the rest of the field.

Jay Romano – 6,600,000
