Event 16: Final 14 Players

$1,100 Six-Max No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-out)
Level 17: 1,500/3,000/500 Ante

With the board showing 8d7h2sJs on the turn, Nikolai Sears checked, and Jamie Avila bet 129,000, leaving himself just 10,000 behind. Sears thought for a few moments before moving all in with a similar stack, and Avila called off his last 10,000 with Qs8s for a pair of eights with a spade flush draw. Sears turned over AhJh for a pair of jacks.

The river card was the Qc, and Avila made two pair, queens and eights, to win the pot. Their chip stacks were counted down, and they both had exactly 137,000 — Avila doubled up while Sears was eliminated.

Jamie Avila  –  300,000+  (100+ bb)
Nikolai Sears  –  Eliminated in 18th Place  ($2,672)

A few minutes later, after a flop of Js10h9c, Philip Consolo was all in with Qh9h for a pair of nines with an open-ended straight draw, but he needed to improve to stay alive against Nacho Barbero’s QcJc — pair of jacks with the same straight draw.

The turn was the 7d, the river was the 7h, and Barbero won the pot with two pair, jacks and sevens, to eliminate Consolo from the tournament.

Nacho Barbero  –  205,000
Philip Consolo  –  Eliminated in 17th Place  ($2,672)

Consolo actually won Event 8 earlier this series, which was also a six-max event, and he had been hoping to win both six-max events to become the undisputed six-max champion of the Seminole Hard Rock. But he’s going to have to share that unofficial title with the winner of this event.
