The second event of the The Big 4 kicked off on Sunday afternoon with the $2,650 no limit hold’em freeze-out getting cards in the air at 2 p.m.

After 14 levels of play, Jake Cody finished Day 1 bagged the heaviest of all the bags. He heads into Day 2 leading the 99 remaining players with the chip lead and 306,000 in chips.

When late registration closed, there were 529 players in the field, which generated a prizepool of $1,282,825, which surpassed the $1 million guarantee and saw an increase in registration from last year.

Players will return to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Monday at noon for Day 2 of the event. Bursting the money bubble will be at at the forefront of everybody’s mind. With the top 71 finishers leaving with a cash.

A min-cash is worth $4,600, but everybody has their sights set on the $246,400 first place prize money and the trophy.

Joining Cody atop the Day 1 chip counts are Robert Kuhn (301,000), Ryan Rogers (285,000), Vlad Mezheritsky (262,000), and Colin Robertson (247,300) Other top tier pros to survive the day include Dan Heimiller, Jon Turner, Chad Eveslage, Kory Kilpatrick, Ben Zamani, Alex Rocha, TK Miles, Ben Tarzia, Blake Bohn, Jonathan Karamalikis, Marvin Rettenmaier, Jeremy Ausmus, Scott Clements, Hans Winzeler, SHRP Team Member Darryll Fish, Jared Jaffee, Stan Jablonski, and SHRP Team Member Natasha Barbour.

Not everybody was so lucky, however, with most of the field hitting the rail before the last hand was dealt. Jennifer Tilly, Bryn Kenney, Taylor Paur, Michael Mizrachi, Christian Harder, Matt Stout, Matt Berkey, Dan O’Brien, Former NFL Player Richard Seymour, Cate Hall, Mohsin Charania, Pratyush Buddiga, and Joe McKeehen were among the plethora of notable players to hit the rail.

When cards get back in the air tomorrow, the schedule for the day is to play down to the final table. On Monday, the Big 4 hits its stride with all four events underway.

The $5,250 No Limit Hold’em Main Event gets Day 3 underway alongside Day 2 of this event. The $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry and the $25,000 High Roller Re-Entry both kick off on Monday as well.

All four events are planned to play down to a final table, with all four final tables being played simultaneously on Tuesday afternoon.
