As with this format of everyone returning in the money, there’s a ton of action at the start with shorties trying to double or get paid. A lot of calls of “payout!” were heard in the Grand Ballroom from the start but Hollywood regular William McPhillips had other ideas.

Peter Fellows opened in early position, McPhillips shipped for 33,000 from middle position and Fellows called.

McPhillips needed to improve with his two over cards and took the lead when he paired his queen on the flop. The board finished with the turn and river and McPhillips doubled to stay in the game while a lot were busting.

“I guess you can win any more hand,” Maurice Hawkins joked with him. “You used your one-time.”
