Event 5: Lots of Action at Final 3 Tables

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 23:  10,000/20,000/3,000 ante

When the field reached the final 27 players, they redrew for random seats at the final three tables.

Ory Hen has been on a heater this level, and it started on the turn of a board showing Qh7h2d6h. Hen checked the big blind, the UTG+1 player bet 140,000, and Hen check-raised all in for 522,000. His opponent called with 6d6c for a set of sixes, but Hen turned over Ah8h for an ace-high flush.

The river card was the 8s, and the flush held up for Hen to win the pot and double up in chips. (His opponent was knocked down to less than a single big blind, and busted two hands later in 26th place.)

Ory Hen  –  1,240,000  (62 bb)

At the next table, chipleader Lisa Teebagy took out another player, this time by cracking pocket aces.

Alfonso Perez got it all in on the turn of a board showing Js10s2s7d. Perez had AdAc for an overpair, and he needed to hold against Teebagy’s Qs6c (queen-high flush draw).

The river was the 5s, completing Teebagy’s flush to send Perez to the rail in 25th place.

Lisa Teebagy  –  2,375,000  (119 bb)
Alfonso Perez  –  Eliminated in 25th Place  ($2,075)

Oneil McCalla also had a premium hand cracked, but this time it was pocket kings.

Gil Morgensztern got it all in preflop with Ac2c, and he needed to improve to stay alive against McCalla’s KsKc. The board came Jc7s4s7cQc, and Morgensztern made an ace-high flush to win the pot and double up in chips.

Gil Morgensztern  –  435,000  (22 bb)
Oneil McCall  –  95,000  (5 bb)

Then there was a classic race at Table 16, with Gunther Rowohlt all in preflop for 477,000 with QsQc against the AhKh of Tom Clements.

The board came 9s9d8h3h6s, and the pocket queens held up for Rowohlt to win the pot and double up in chips.

Gunther Rowohlt  –  990,000  (50 bb)
Tom Clements  –  227,000  (11 bb)

A few moments later, Sebastien Kos and Ory Hen were battling over a board of Kd8h7s4s. Kos got it all in on the turn with 8c7c for two pair, and he needed it to hold to stay alive against Hen’s KsJs (pair of kings).

The river card paired the board with the 4d, counterfeiting Kos’s two pair to give the pot to Hen. Kos was eliminated in 24th place.

Ory Hen  –  2,000,000  (100 bb)
Sebastien Kos  –  Eliminated in 24th Place  ($2,075)

Moments after Kos was eliminated, Clements was sent to the rail in 23rd place.

Tom Clements  –  Eliminated in 24th Place  ($2,075)

With 22 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 755,000 (381 big blinds).
