Reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year David Prociak wasn’t sitting back and nursing a stack as the money bubble got closer. He was mixing it up in a lot of hands, dropping Wally Maddah down to a short stack before aiming at neighbor Jon Borenstein.
Maddah was on the button when he dropped some chips after Prociak check/called with the board reading then fired for 38,000 after the river. Maddah thought for a while before he called with but top/top was no good against Prociak’s flopped set .
Soon after, Prociak was in a battle of the blinds with Borenstein and called bets down to the turn on the board. Borenstein slowed down after the river and released to a bet from Prociak.
On the next hand, Borenstein raised from the button to 15,000 and Prociak three-bet to 42,000 from the small blind. Borenstein counted out chips before four-betting to 100,000. Snap and crackle and all the chips were in the middle in a hurry with Borenstein at risk.
But it was an anti-climatic hand after all when Borenstein tabled against to chop up the pot.
David Prociak – 690,000 (115 bb)
Jon Borenstein – 200,000 (33 bb)
Wally Maddah – 56,000 (9 bb)
