Seminole Hard Rock Poker
Over the last three weeks thousands of players have enjoyed the comforts of playing poker in the spacious Ballroom. From the tropical decor, to the large screen TVs, it’s a venue that sets the right tone when millions of dollars are on the line.
Punctuating the experience is a familiar voice that makes sure the players quench their thirsts.
“Soda-bottle-water,” promotes Jose while saying the words in rapid fire succession and working the room with a big smile and bigger heart.
“I love it,” says Jose about the reception he gets while serving beverages in his unofficial trademarked move, “everyone is great.”
Jose says his unique style began years ago. “I heard someone yell ‘soda’ over here and then ‘bottle water’ over there. So I put them together, people love it.”
The staccato cadence is like a “Wheel of Fortune” Before & After puzzle with the word bottle as the bridge.
Soda-bottle and bottle-water have become “soda-bottle-water,” and players appreciate his service as displayed in a recent tweet by Adam Levy:
Other waiters have started using “soda, bottah wattah” now after the original’s recent success #therecanonlybeone

“When I’m off people say, ‘we missed you, we feel like it was quiet and empty’,” says Jose, who has been a mainstay at Seminole Hard Rock.
He’s worked in the Banquet Department since the Hotel and Casino opened in 2004 and Jose says his favorite shifts are when poker’s in the Ballroom.
Another “soda-bottle-water” strikes the air before Jose hustles to the next table of thirsty players who are glad to see him and vice versa.
