Day 2 of Event 1 began with 345 players left from the starting field of 4,075 entries. After 11 levels and change, only 12 players remain with hopes of emerging victorious and capturing the $230,422 first-place prize.

Among those who who made a deep run but came up just a bit short include TJ Shulman (16th – $5,203) and Matt Affleck (17th- $5,203). Play resumes at 2pm and leading the way is Thai Ha with 10,420,000.

Following the river of a Kd9s7hJs7s board, Arthur Peacock checked from the small blind and Richard Hutchings bet about 1.2 million from the cutoff. Peacock check-raised all in for about 3.04 million and Hutchings insta-called with 9h9c for nines full of sevens. Peacock’s Kc4s was beat, ending his run in 14th place.

At the other table, James Newbold was all in for just less than 1 million with AdKc and was racing with Jordan Meltzer’s 9h9s. Newbold found no help from the board and busted in 13th place.

TJ Shulman was all in for about 1.36 million with AhQd, but ran into the AcKd of Raminder Singh. The board ran out 9h4d3c7sKh, no help to Shulman, ending his run in 16th place.

A few hands later, Mark Johnson Jr. opened to 200,000 from middle position and Gary Lucci three-bet to 500,000 from the hijack. Johnson Jr. called and the flop fell Jh9s2s. Johnson Jr. check-called 500,000 from Lucci on the flop, the turn was the Qc and he checked to Lucci again, who bet 500,000 again. Johnson Jr. check-raised to about 1.2 million and Lucci called all in with KsKh.

Johnson Jr. tabled 2c2d for a set of deuces and held up through the Jc river to eliminate Lucci.

Garry Lucci raised from the button, Thai Ha three-bet from the big blind and Lucci called.

The flop fell AsJc10c and Ha checked to Lucci who bet 1 million. Ha called to see the 5h turn where he led for 1.4 million. Lucci called, the Js landed on the river and Ha shoved for about 1.1 million.

Lucci called with Ad7d, but Ha had him beat with AdKd to score the massive double.

Matt Affleck raised from middle position, Gary Lucci called from the cutoff and Eli Levy called from the big blind.

They checked to the turn of a Ks8d6d7s board where Levy led for 350,000. Affleck folded, Lucci called and the Qc river completed the board. Levy fired 700,000 and after a few moments Lucci raised all in for 2.675 million. Levy called instantly with 6h6s, but Lucci had the nuts with 10h9h for a ten-high straight.
