One hand after Johnson was eliminated, a big hand played out on the other table.

Raminder Singh opened to 260,000 from under the gun and found calls from Richard Hutchings and Daniel Perez before Gedeminas Kiuberis moved all-in for 2,240,000.

Singh moved all-in over the top to get folds from Hutchings and Perez and dominated with QhQc against QsJd. It was a drama-free As6h3s5d4c board for Singh and Kiuberis was eliminated in 11th place for $8,176.

Tournament staff paused the clock to redraw the final table ten players.

Kiuberis: Eliminated in 11th Place
Singh: 8,600,000

Mark Johnson Jr. opened to 275,000 from the hijack and Thai Ha three-bet to 575,000 on the button. The blinds released and Johnson Jr. moved all-in over the top for 2,100,000.

Ha called with TdTh to flip against AsQd and Johnson’s stay-alive hopes were crushed on the Ts8c5s flop. The Ad turn left Johnson Jr drawing dead and he was eliminated in 12th place for $8,176.

Johnson Jr: Eliminated in 12th Place
Ha: 13,900,000

Thai Ha opened to 240,000 from the hijack and David Shaw three-bet shoved for 1,755,000 on the button. The blinds released and Ha called with KdJd to dominate Shaw’s Js7s.

Ha stayed ahead on the QsThTc while Shaw picked up the first half of his backdoor flush draw on the Ts turn. Shaw was calling for spades then had a delayed reaction on the winning 8s river. Once he recovered and realized he won, he stacked up his double.

While Cantane was doubling up at one table, Gedeminas Kiuberis found his needed double on the other. He three-bet to 515,000 from the button after Ronald Campillo opened to 255,000 from the hijack.

Campillo called the raise and checked the Ts7s4h flop before Kiuberis moved all-in for 980,000. After a long think, Campillo called with top pair Th8s behind the Kiuberis’ overpair QdQs. Campillo moved ahead on the 8h turn but the counterfeit 7s hit the river to give Kiuberis the bigger two-par double up.

Kiuberis: 3,260,000
Campillo: 1,500,000

Johnson: AhJh
Catane: 3d3h

Johnson needed to catch to earn the KO, missed his overcards but added a flush draw on the 8h7s5h flop. The 9s turn didn’t help and Catane hit the overkill 3c to double up early.

Johnson: 4,540,000
Catane: 3,630,000

Thai Ha (Philadelphia, PA)
Thai Ha (Philadelphia, PA)

Eight starting flights and a long Day 2 were not enough to crown our Event 1 champion. There are 12 players remaining with a chance at the $230,000 top prize with Philly’s Thai Ha leading the way.

The big opening event of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open drew 4,075 entrants but most of them are gone to leave us with two short-handed tables remaining for some extra Day 3 action.

Former chip leader Gedeminas Kiuberas has the shortest stack of those returning but he can still effectively push around his 13 big blinds. With the average stack sitting at 40 big blinds, there’s still plenty of play and we expect a long battle as the 60-minute blind levels crawl higher.

Chip bags are on the table, players are taking their seats, and action will be back underway in a few minutes.
