The entry count clicked over 250 as we rolled into the second level. Unfortunately, one of those was for SHRP regular Paul Balzano.
The former Poker Showdown champ ran his two pair into the nuts and needed to use his single re-entry option (per flight) to rejoin the field.
Balzano has more than $1.5 million in career earnings with his second biggest score coming with a seventh-place finish in the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship.

We are seeing a lot of our SHRP friends in early action as the entry count climbs. Some were here at the start and some are taking their seats for the first time.
Willie Wiggins (pictured above) made a splash in the first tournament of the series when he made the final table in the Ultimate Re-Entry tournament. He was part of a three-way deal that saw him bank $176,120 for a second-place finish to Michael Newman.

After a week of preliminaries, today is the day we roll out the WPTDeepStacks Lucky Hearts Poker Open Main Event. The tournament features a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and it will draw a big field over the three starting flights.
This event has averaged more than 1,500 entries over the last three years and the Event Center will be busy all weekend long. Scott Baumstein will return as the defending champ but will face some tough competition.
Players will sit down to 30,000 deep starting stacks and levels will last 40 minutes throughout the tournament until they reach the final table. Late registration is open until the start of Level 10 at 7:30pm but players are limited to a single re-entry per flight. Their day will come to an end after Level 15 and those with chips will bag them up for a Day 2 return on Sunday.
The wait is over and it is time to get down to the business of finding our next big SHRP champion.

2019 Lucky Hearts Poker Open Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 10 $360 Eight-Handed Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry) Entries: 103 Prize Pool: $30,900 January 16, 2019
Hyndi Khomutetsky of Orlando, Florida, outlasted a field of 103 entries and an extended heads-up battle against runner-up Jordan Dhanani to win the $360 Eight-Handed Pot Limit Omaha, earning $8,655 for the title.
Khomutetsky began the final table with the chip lead, and she scored the first elimination at the final table to increase her stack to the point that she had twice as many chips as anyone else.
But just as it looked like Khomutetsky was going to run away with it, she was part of a huge three-way pot where Dhanani tripled up with a flopped set of sevens, and that put the two players nearly even in chips.
Khomutetsky rebuilt her lead as more players busted, and when heads-up play began, she had more than a 2-to-1 lead against Dhanani.
The heads-up battle lasted about 90 minutes, with Khomutetsky holding a commanding lead most of the time. Dhanani nearly tied it up at one point when he doubled up with a higher two pair, but Khomutetsky quickly rebuilt a lead.
In the final hand, they got it all in after a flop of , and Dhanani’s pair of queens couldn’t catch up to Khomutetsky’s two pair, queens and nines.
Khomutetsky praised Dhanani after her victory. “I’ve played with him before, so I know he’s a really good player. Anything could have happened heads up.”
This is the second final table of the series for Khomutetsky, who finished sixth in Event 2 ($360 Omaha 8 or Better). In addition to the money and the title, Khomutetsky was pleased to win for another reason. “The trophy means a lot. I have one trophy at home that’s just been collecting dust for three years, and it needs a complement.”

It’s been a long heads-up battle, and it looks like it could go a while longer.
Jordan Dhanani limped for 16,000, and Hyndi Khomutetsky checked her option in the big blind.
The flop came , Khomutetsky checked, Dhanani bet 18,000, and Khomutetsky called.
The turn card was the , Khomutetsky checked, Dhanani pot-bet 68,000, and Khomutetsky called.
The river card was the , and Khomutetsky pot-bet 204,000. Dhanani tanked for a while, saying, “That’s such a horrible card for me. Did you catch a two-outer?”
Eventually, Dhanani called, and they turned over their cards:
Hyndi Khomutetsky: (two pair, tens and sevens) Jordan Dhanani: (two pair, kings and tens)
Dhanani won the pot with his higher two pair to double thru Khomutetsky and effectively tie it up.
About 15 minutes later, level 21 came to an end, and they took a break. In that time, Khomutetsky had rebuilt some of her chip lead with the blinds increasing to 10,000-20,000:
